For my Day 12, I used Pan Pastels on a gel plate with the Funky Fossil "Lots of pips" stencil to create the background pattern.

Over the top, I used Versafine Clair "Glamorous" pink ink with the Funky Fossil Designs "Urchins" stencil.

I used a Lawn Fawn greetings stamp from their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Glamorous" ink.  I used the same ink to ink up the edges of the card, before mounting it onto a piece of white card.

Finally, I added dots of white Ranger Enamel Accents, to the surface of the card.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 10

It's Day 10 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  This week it's all about stencils.

I have a confession to make, I forgot to take a photo of the spray ink background before I started work with the stencils.  On the background, I used two Dylusion ink sprays:  "Bubblegum Pink" and "Squeezed Orange".

I then used Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink through the Funky Fossil "Circle Burst" stencil.

Next, I used black Ranger Archival Ink through the Funky Fossil "Beauty in profile" stencil.

I cut the card down to size then inked the edges in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, before mounting on to black paper and then on to a piece of grey card.  Finally, I added some bright pink Liquid Pearls, called "Dazzle" to the middle of some of the circle bursts.

I used the Funky Fossil "Fern" die set to cut a fern shape in dark blue card, using wet glue to stick the die cut on to the card. I then mounted the card on to the same coloured dark blue card and then onto white card.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 8

It's Day 8 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge and this second week is all about stencils.  This is the tag that I have made for Day 8.

I've used a selection of Stampers Anonymous / Tim Holtz products over a patterned paper base

Starting with Ranger Archival Ink "Poppy" with the Tim Holtz stencil THMM101 for the hegagons at the base and the dots at the top of the tag.

The next stencil I used was the Tim Holtz THS103 'String Layering Stencil" with "Red Geranium" Ranger Archival Ink.

I then used the Tim Holtz "Shifter Layering Stencil" with "Thistle" Ranger Archival Ink for the large vertical stripes.

I then used Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink through the Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous "Rosette" stencil.

I inked the edges of the tag using Versafine Clair "Chianti" red ink and then "Nocturne" black ink.

I used a black fine liner pen to draw around some of the circles at the top of the tag.  Then added some splatters of black Posca Pen, before mounting the tag on to a piece of dark red card,

I used a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Paperdolls "Witches" figures and glued into position with wet glue.  I gave the figures some colour using Derwent Inktense Pencils.  Then finished the tag adding some Tim Holtz sticky backed word stickers from the "Curiosities" set.

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

The prompt for Week 9 is "Patterned Papers"

*****

This is the tag that I have made for the Week 9

In my stash, I had some patterned paper pages from a Dovecraft pad called "Sweet Paris", so I decided to use them I added two to the main body of the tag and then topped and bottomed the tag with a patterned paper border.

I lay a Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous "String - THS004" stencil diagonally and used "Pink Peony" Archival Ink, through the stencil.

Then on the left hand side of the tag, I positioned a Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous "Rosette THS092" stencil and used "Vibrant Fuchsia" Ranger Archival Ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I added some stamping using a Sizzix / Tim Holtz Alterations set called "Paris Adventure" adding a post mark and also "Paris, New York, London" address stamp.

I inked the edges of the tag using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink and then mounted the tag on to black card.

Finally, I added touches of gold and raspberry coloured gel pen to the tag.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 7

Here is my Day 7 make for the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  I have sprayed ink through a stencil.

On a piece of dark blue card, I sprayed "Salvaged Patina" Distress Oxide Spray Ink through the Funky Fossil "Mandala Magic" stencil.  Once dry, I realised it was quite patchy, so decided to fussy cut out the stronger coloured mandala pattern.

On a white piece of card, I used the same 'Salvaged Patina" colour, but this time a Distress Oxide Ink pad, applying the ink through the Funky Fossil "Mandala Magic" stencil.

I cut the white card down to 4"x4" and stuck the fussy cut design on top of the white card. Then mounted it on to dark blue card to create a frame and then on to a Kraft card blank.

Next, using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, I stamped the sentiment, which is part of a stamp set called "Stripped Back Sentiments" by Funky Fossil Designs.

Finally, I added some sticky backed pearls to areas of the mandala, I also outlined a few areas with a gel pen.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 6

This is my make for Day 6 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplaychallenge.  I've used spray inks to stamp an image.

I used four shades of Distress Oxide Sprays:  Salvaged Patina, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch and Twisted Citreon to stamp (using a Misti) the bird image,  which is part of the Visible Image "Life is beautiful" stamp set.

Once dry, I used "Shaded Lilac" Distress Oxide Ink through the Visible Image "Strobes" stencil.  I inked the edges with the same ink and then used Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink to ink the edges again.

The sentiments is part of the same stamp set and stamped again in Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 5

This is my Day 5 make of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge.  Today I have used Distress Oxide Spray Ink with a mask.

I decided to used "Wilted Violet" Distress Oxide Ink on a dark blue coloured card.  I positioned the Funky Fossil Designs "Bubble Mask" over the top of the card, then lightly spritzed the ink over the top.

Once dry, I cut the card to size and mounted on to dark blue card and then on to a white card blank.

I used Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink to stamp the greeting, using the Funky Fossil Designs "Stripped Back Sentiment" stamp set, stamped on to white card.  I trimmed the sentiment to size and then stuck it to the centre of the card using foam pads so that it was elevated.

Finally, I added a few dots of Ranger White Enamel Accents to break up the darker colour.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 4

This is my Day 4 make of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge.  Today, I have stamped with spray inks.

I used the large snowflake stamp from the Visible Image "Let It Snow" stamp set for the central image.

Using my Misti, I spritzed the stamp with "Salvaged Patina" Distress Oxide Ink and stamped the snowflake.

I wiped down the Misti, keeping the stamp in the same position and then spritzed the stamp with "Mermaid Lagoon" Distress Oxide Spray Ink and stamped the snowflake over again. I repeated the process with "Twisted Citreon" Distress Oxide Spray Ink.

I found the whole spritzing on to the Misti a bit of a messy process and quite wasteful of ink, but you have to try different things don't you!

On a small scrap of white card, using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp "Season's Greetings" which is part of their "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set.  I trimmed the sentiment and added it to the centre of the snowflake.

I mounted the snowflake on to a piece of dark blue card and then on to a kraft card blank.  Finally, adding some clear gems and some dots of "Crystal" Stickles glue for sparkle.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 3

It's Day 3 of the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge 2024,with a theme of spray paints.

This is my take.  I've used a white piece of card and graduated three colours of Dylusion spray paint to cover the surface.  The colours that I have used are:  Lemon Zest, Cut Grass and London Blue.  Once dry, I cut the card down to a tag shape.

To decorate the tag, I have used a selection of Lavinia Stamps, starting with the "Tree Branch" and one of the owls from the "Echo & Drew" stamp set.  I then stamped the "Vine Branch" and one of the hares from the "Whimsical Hares" stamp set, all in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink with a Lavinia "Hill Mask" I created the landscape behind the hare.  I used the same ink to stamp the Lavinia "Small Branch".

In the foreground, I have used Posca Pens to give the impression of flowers in the grass and a white gel pen for highlights on the owl and the hare.  Finally, adding a Lavinia "Sentiment Sticker".

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 2 (b)

On my previous Day 2 post, I mentioned I was taking part in the Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge.  I enjoyed the "wax resist" technique so much, I had another go, making this card.

Again, I started by using the Brusho "Wax Resist" crayons, this time to draw broken horizontal lines across the face of a piece of white card.

I then sprayed two shades of Dylusion Spray Inks:  Bubblegum Pink and Crushed Grape.

Once dry, I trimmed the card to size.

I used the Waffle Flower "Oversized Hello Die - 271309" to cut the "Hello" word in white card.  I cut two layers of the word and stuck them together, then glued them on to the card.  This allows the die cut to sit proud of the card base.

I inked the edges of the card using Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink and then mounted it on to a white card blank.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge - Day 2

It is Day 2 of Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay challenge.  Once again it is using sprays, this time I have used the "wax relief" technique.

I used a Brusho "Wax Resist" crayon to draw the scrolls and dots freehand.

At the top I used Dylusions "Squeezed Orange" spray ink.  On the lower section, I used Dylusions "Ground Coffee" Spray ink.

Once dry, I trimmed the card down and started to decorate, loosely based in the style of one of my favourite artists "Klimt".  I used a gold gel pen, a black Sharpie and a black fine liner.

I mounted the card on to a piece of black paper and then on to a white card blank.

Finally, I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the Simon Says Stamp sentiment, which is part of their "Tiny Words - Birthday" stamp set.

Tiffany Johnson Creative #100daysartplay Challenge - Day 1

I recently came across a challenge by one of the people I follow on Instagram.  It's organised by Tiffany Johnson Creative, you can find her on both Instagram and Facebook.  The challenge is to create to prompts for one hundred days and the challenge starts today, the 18th February 2024. I decided I would try to keep up with the challenge, so requested a list of the prompts.

This is my Day 1 art play.  I used three shades of Distress Oxide Spray Inks to create the background, using Salvaged Patina, Squeezed Lemonade and Saltwater Taffy coloured spray inks.  I spritzed the inky surface allowing the colours to merge and then lay a piece of white card over the top, this gave me two mirror image backgrounds instead of one.

Once dry, I used one of the backgrounds to make the card at the top of this post. I used the Lavinia Stamps "Dynamic Stencil" with "Salvaged Patina" and Saltwater Taffy" Distress Oxide inks to create the pattern.

In the middle of the card, I stamped the Waffle Flower "Thinking of you" greeting, which is part of their "Essential Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

I used the same ink to edge the card and then stamp the foliage, which is part of the Penny Black "Serene 30-472" clear stamp set.

I mounted the card on to dark blue card and then on to a white card blank.  Finally, adding some dots of black Ranger Enamel Accents.

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

The prompt for Week 8 is "Song Titles"

*****

This is the tag that I have made for the Week 8.

The song I have chosen is one from my teens "Going Underground" by The Jam.

I sourced a map of the London Underground on-line, reduced it in size, then printed it out and stuck it to a blank tag using glue tape.  I then inked the edges of the tag using Versafine Clair "Tulip Red" ink.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the arrows using a Sweet Dixie "Follow your dreams SDCSA6039" arrow stamp.

I then mounted the tag on to a piece of red card.

I dug out my old-school Dymo tape maker thing (no idea what it's called these days, it's one of those old clicky things) and printed the word "Underground" on a black background, sticking it towards the bottom of the tag.

I used a small arrow shaped die I had sourced on Amazon and die cut three arrow shapes in red card.

Next, I printed out the word "Going" on the computer and cut it to size, sticking it on to the red arrows.  I then used more wet glue to stick the red arrows in to position.

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

The prompt for Week 7 is "Pastel Colours"

***

This is my Week 7 tag, working to a prompt of "Pastel Colours"

For the tag base, I used one of the Clarity stamps "Printed Post Card Quotes", cut in to a tag shape.

Over the top of the printed alphabet, I used three shades of Ranger Archival Inks (Prickly Pear, Violet and Forget Me Not), applied with blending brushes.

I dusted the surface of the inked tag with an anti static chalk bag before laying a Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous stencil over the top.  I used the "THS032 Flourish" stencil.  Then using a Wow! Embossing Ink Pad, I pressed the ink over the surface and through the surface.

Once I was sure there was enough coverage of sticky clear ink, I then coated the tag with Wow! "Sea Mist" Embossing Powder and heat set.

Next, using a fan shaped paint brush, I splattered Dr PH Martin's white bleed proof paint over the surface of the tag so there were lots of small speckles of white across the surface.

While the paint was drying, I die cut the flowers using a Sizzix / Tim Holtz die set called "Wild Flowers #2".  I used plain white card to cut the flowers then fixed them into position using a wet glue.

I mounted the tag on to a piece of white card, finally adding dots of white Ranger "Enamel Accents"  to break up the background colour.

Lavinia Stamps "Fairy Dandelion" With Love Card

A play with old and new Lavinia Stamps to make this card.

I've used a piece of white card for the base, blending two shades of Distress Oxide Inks (Salvaged Patina and Blueprint Sketch) applied with a wet mop paint brush to get all over colour gently changing from one to another.

Next, I lay the Lavinia "Dynamic" stencil over the top of the background and applied "Salvaged Patina" Distress Oxide Ink through the stencil.

I stamped the Lavinia "Fairy Dandelion" using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  I stamped the fly away bits of dandelion, which are part of the "Make a dandelion" stamp set and the sentiment, which is part of the "Heartfelt Verse" stamp set using the same ink.

I then multi stamped the new Lavinia "Meadow Blossom" stamps using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink I coloured the "Meadow Blossom" using "Wilted Violet" Distress Oxide Ink, applied with a paint brush.

Finally, I added a touch of sparkle to the dandelion and the blossom using a silver glitter pen.

Stampin' Up "Beautiful Friendship" Birthday Card

Here's a card I've made, using a Stampin' Up stamp set that's not seen the light of day for a very long time.

For the roses and leaves in the middle of the card, I have used the Stampin' Up stamp set called "Beautiful Friendship" with Distress Marker Pens using "Peeled Paint" and Worn Lipstick" pens and "Worn Lipstick" and "Picked Raspberry" Distress Oxide Inks.

I gave the background a wash of "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Inks.  I then used the "Micro Squares Stencil" by Funky Fossil Designs, with "Prickly Pear" and "Leaf Green" Distress Oxide Inks.

The birthday greeting is by Lawn Fawn, part of their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

I inked the edge of the card using the same "Twilight" ink then mounted the card on to dark blue card and then on to a white card blank.  Finally, adding some dots of white Ranger Enamel Accents.

The Crafting Niche 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2024:

The prompt for Week 6 is "Skeleteon Trees or Leaves"

*****

This is my Week 6 tag, working to the prompt of "Skeleton Trees or Leaves".

For the base, I used a white tag.  I coloured the whol tag with "Sundance" Elements inks.  I then positioned a moon mask where I wanted the moon to be, as I knew I would forget it when I got to the darker colours.

Next, I used "Russet Orange" Elements Inks, leaving a section of yellow but covering the rest with the orange.

I moved on to "Emporer Red" Elements Inks, again leaving some of the yellow and orange before covering the rest of the tag.

Finally, I used the "Merlot" Elements inks, for the dark sky around and above the moon area.  I gave the tag a blast with my heat gun before creating a white halo around the moon using a white Pan Pastel.  I added some mottled areas to the moon itself, by using a finger dabber with "Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

I then moved on to the stamping.  I used the Visible Image "Into the woods" stamp set with two shades of Versafine Clair Inks:  Nocturne and Morning Mist.

Finally, I mounted the tag on to black card and added a few stars in the sky, using a white gel pen.

Lavinia Stamps "Snail House" New Home Card

I've been away in Tenerife, enjoying some winter sun, which was very much needed.  At long last I have shaken off the awful cough and pneumonia, which I am very glad about.

While we were away, Lavinia Stamps released a new collection.  I ordered it and it arrived yesterday, just in time for me to play.

I used Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink to stamp the new Lavinia "Snail House", "Thistlecap Mushrooms" and a word from their "Words from the heart" stamp set.

I coloured the image using various colours of Derwent Inktense Pencils using a paint brush to apply the colour.  I added dots of orange, yellow and red Posca Pens for the tiny flower heads and a white gel pen for highlights to various areas of the image.

In the background, I have used the Lavinia Stamps "Waffle" stencil with "Sky Blue" coloured Ranger Archival Ink.
