There are only one or two Lavinia Stamps in my stash that I have actually never used. The sign post stamp was one of those, so I decided to make a tag, just to use it.
I decided to use a page from an old road atlas as the base for the tag, sticking it on to a manila tag for strength. I used several green, browns and dark red inks to dull down the look of the atlas page.
Using Versafine Clair "Chianti" and "Pinecone", I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Maple Leaves", the "Large Compass" and the "Fairy Towns" sign post.
I stamped the sign post again on a piece of card and coloured it with "Antique Linen" Distress Oxide Ink before fussy cutting the sign post and sticking it on to the tag. Because the surface of the atlas page was coated in something, the ink seemed to take longer than normal to dry! I then mounted the tag on to a dark red card base.
I added touches of details and highlights, using a metallic gold pen to areas of the leaves and the compass. I also edged the tag in the gold ink pen too.
Really great use of the old atlas page love the background colours and your choice of stamps

DeleteWhat a brilliant tag Sam, and love the background atlas page and the dark red works well for the maple leaves with the gold added to the edges and veins, and the compass, and the layered sign post is fun with its magical destinations. x
