Penny Black "Distinctive 40-831" Cling Stamp card

I've been out and about today, so not really had a proper crafting session, but did make this card using a Penny Black "Distinctive 40-831" cling stamp, stamped in various shades of Memento Inks (Spring Pansy, Lulu Lavender, New Sprout and Pistachio).

Around the edge of the card I have used "Shabby Shutters" Distress Oxide Ink to pull the eye into the card.

I have used the Penny Black clear stamp set for the sentiment called "Not older, better 308-96", stamped in Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" Ink

Lavinia Stamps "Ariel" and a dancing "Moo" Mouse

More Lavinia Stamps today, this time using "Ariel" and "Moo the mouse".

I've used a Brusho background I prepared a while back.  I have used three shades of Versafine Clair Inks:  Warm Breeze, Blue Bell and Twilight to stamp the following list of Lavinia Stamps:

  • Ariel (small)
  • Minnie & Moo
  • Red Pine (small)
  • Foliage Set
  • Fairy Wishes
I have also used Posca Pens and Gel Pens for added highlights

Sweet Poppy Stencil "Maple Leaf" with Lavinia Stamps "Bron" the fairy

Today I received an order from Sweet Poppy Stencils, as I could not resist some of their new release products! It would have been rude not to have an immediate play, so I made this card.

I have used two shades of green Lavinia Elements Inks (Lime Punch and Olive) for the background of the maple leaf which is a Sweet Poppy Stencil SP6-125ML.  Around the edge of the leaf, I have used "Confetti" Elements ink.  While I had the "confetti" ink out, I used another Sweet Poppy Stencil, which is a small maple leaf, adding the detail around the edge of the card.

I then turned to stamping the leaf area.  I used Lavinia Stamps "Bron" the fairy as the main feature.  I also used the following Lavinia Stamps: Small Branch, Gyp, Bubbles, Berry Leaves and Foliage Set.  All stamped in Verafine Clair Inks.

I further stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Maple Leaf" and their "Mini Maple Leaf" around the edge of the card in Versafine Clair "Chianti".  Finally using Liquid Pearls, Posca Pens and gel pens to add extra detail.

Lavinia Stamps heat embossed "Elegance" stencil card

I have continued to play with heat embossing on and off today.  Here's another card from the session.

It's a simple card using the Lavinia Stamps "Elegance" stencil with Wow! Embossing "Sea Mist" Embossing Powder which I've heat set. It has a lovely sheen.

I've used the "Heartfelt Verse" sentiment, staped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Heartfelt Verse" heat embossed birthday card

This morning, I have been heat embossing, creating this card. Unfortunately the sparkle doesn't really show very well in the photograph, so I took a little clip of it in the sunshine.

I've used three Lavinia Stamps for this card.  "Heartfelf Verse" for the central sentiment.  In the background I have used two Lavinia pound stamps, the "Mini Orbs" and the "Mini Dots".

I have used Wow! Embossin ink pad and "Rich Gold" embosing powder.  I have also used a Papermania "Enchanted Gold" embossing powder, which gave a little sparkle to the central area of embossing on the blue section.

Lavinia Stamps "Woodland Sprite" on an Eileen Godwin style background

Today I wanted to craft, but my mind wouldn't settle on something to make.  So I turned to the super talented Eileen Godwin for inspiration.  Watching one of her recent "Me To You" Facebook tutorials.  The background of this card, is my take on that tutorial.

To create the background I used four Elements inks:  Russed Orange, Della Blue, Confetti and Sundance with the straight edge of a hill mask and one of the circle/moon masks.

I decided one of the circles would be the moon behind the fairy, so used some white and yellow Pan Pastels to lighten the circle.  I then stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Woodland Sprite" fairy in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink.

On the left hand side of the card, I used second generation stamping of Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" to stamp the "Faerie Spells" script. I then used "Twilight" again to stamp the "Believe in magic" sentiment.

I used a white gel pen to add highlights to the fairy, then used a mini star stamp to create a twinkle starry look around the fairy, adding touches of "White Opal" Liquid Pearls to the middle of the stars and to create a circle around the moon.

Lavinia Stamps "Indra Moth"

Yesterday I had a card in my head that I wanted to make, however the one I ended up making has little resemblance to the one in my head.  In fact I don't really like it, because it is too dark. I

So many times it has come close to ending up in the bin, but I decided to save and upload it.

I used Confetti Elements ink brayered on to the card, then used another Elements ink called "Violet Chalk" through the Lavinia Stamps "Pebbles" Stencil.

I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Indra Moth" using Versafine Clair "Fantasia" purple ink, colouring areas with a white Signo Pen.  Over the top of the stencilled area to the right of Indra, I used the Lavinia "Words Of Spring" stamp with Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink.

I added splatters of white and black Posca Pen and used "Watering Can" Archival Ink to make the lines in the bottom right corner.  Finally Stamping the "Take Flight" sentiment, which is part of the Lavinia "Let your spirit take flight" stamp, also stamped in Fantasia.

Lavinia Stamps "Dragon Stone Castle" in the mist card

I've made a mystical magical and misty scene using an assortments of Lavinia Stamps for this card.

For the background, I have used a Brusho background I had made a few weeks ago, as it was quite dark, it had been sat unused till inspiration struck on how to use it.

First, I masked off an area to create a large moo, lighting the circle using Pan Pastels and Van Goch Pastel Pencils. Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink I stamped the "Dragon Stone Castle", the "Christmas Tree Group of trees" and the "Red Pine Trees".

For the mist area, I used a Hero Arts ink pad called "Unicorn".  Then using the "Foliage Set" I stamped the foreground area using "Shady Lane" and "Nocturne" Versafine Clair inks.  I added touches of colour and detail using Posca Pens and Gelly Pens.

Lavinia Stamps "Liberty" Bon Voyage Card

I have made a quick card this morning using the Lavinia Stamps "Liberty" stamp, stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink and coloured with Distress Oxide inks  I used "Peacock Feathers" Distress Oxide Ink through the Lavinia Stamps "Elegance Stencil".

The sentiment is part of a Woodware stamp set, called "Bon Voyage" which is also stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink.

Penny Black "You're Retro 30-239!" Birthday Card

I've made this card for a rather competitive friend.  I wonder if he will recognise why I have opted for this image for his card?

I have used the Funky Fossil Designs "Birthday Celebration Words Stencil" with Distress Oxide Inks for the background.

The central image from the Penny Black "You're Retro 30-239" clear stamp set, is stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink and coloured with Distress Oxide Inks applied with a brush.  I have also used Posca Pens and Gelly Roll pens. The sentiments are from the same stamp set and is stamped in Versafine Clair "Blue Belle" ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Silhouette Thistles" on a Brusho Background

I couldn't sleep last night, so was up early and made this card.

I used a Brusho Background I had created some time ago as the base of this card.  I used the Lavinia Stamps "Silhouette Thistles" stamp, heat embossed using Wow! Clear ink pad and their Opaque Vanilla White Embossing Powder which I heat set.

Around the edge of the card, I used the following Lavinia Stamps (Maple Leaf, Foliage Set and Creeping Vine), with four colours of Versafine Clair Inks (Twilight, Blue Belle, Shady Lane and Nocturne).

I added extra detail with Posca Pens, Gel pens and Pastel Pencils.

Sweet Poppy "Oriental Cherry Blossom SP1-330" on Brusho Card

I fell in love with a Sweet Poppy Stencil called "Oriental Cherry Blossom" so had to order it!.  I came back from a few days away in the caravan and my order had been delivered, so as soon as the unpacking was done and the washing machine was on, I wasted no time in having a play.

I used a small Brusho paint background I had in my stash.  Round the edges of the paint splatters I used another Sweet Poppy stencil called "Plaid Back Plate SP6-122" with two shades of Distress Inks:  Squeezed Lemonade and Ripe Persimmon" this filled in the white areas.

I then lay the Sweet Poppu "Oriental Cherry Blossom" stencil down over the background and using a metal spreader with the Sweet Poppu "Glossy Red Stencil Paste" filled in the areas of the stencil. I then set it aside for an hour or two.

Once dry, I noticed that some of the paste had oozed under the stencil.  I used a white gel pen to fill in the excess red areas.  I used a white and a black Posca Pen to add splatters.

Finally, I used a Lawn Fawn "Hello" sentiment from their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Verafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Foliage" Card

This morning I should be cleaning the caravan, instead I've been faffing making this foliage card.

I used the "Sundance" Elements Ink brayered on to one half of the card so that the colour fades out to one side.

Using a selection of Versafine Clair inks (Shady Lane, Morning Mist, Acorn and Chianti), I stamped the foliage using the following Lavinia Stamps:

  • Maple Leaf
  • Vine
  • Small Branch
  • Foliage Set
  • Heartfelt Verse
I also used Gel Pens and Posca Pens to add extra touches to the card

Penny Black "Daffodil Dance 40-378" Easter Card

Another card that I'm not totally happy with.  Maybe I have spent too long crafting this morning and it's time for a break.

I've used the Penny Black cling stamp called "Daffodil Dance 40-378" stamped in Versafine Clair ink and coloured with Derwent Inktense water colour pencils. Around the edge of the flowers, I have used a Funky Fossil stencil called "Micro Squares" with Distress Oxide ink.

The sentiment is by Personal Impressions and is part of their "All Year Round" stamp set and is stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilght" dark blue ink.

Avery Elle "Weight Lifting" 18th Birthday Card

Following on from my post yesterday.  You may recall I wasn't happy with the 18th Birthday card I had made.  Today I have made another card which I am a lot happier with.

I used the same "Avery Elle" weigh lifting stamp, but this time used the Funky Fossil "Sunray Stencil" with "Candied Apple" Distress Oxide Ink to create the background, fading the colour out towards the edges.

I used a Lawn Fawn greeting from their "Simply Sentiments" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I coloured the figure with Posca Pens.

I then die cut the 18 in the image and also in a layer of black Funky Foam.  I adhered the card and funky foam letters together then stuck them on to the card, so that the 18 is elevated out of the card, without it being too obvious.

Lavinia Stamps "Woodland Sprite" on a Brusho background

This morning I have returned to my comfort zone of making a card using Lavinia Stamps.

I have used a background from my stash, made with Brusho paints.  With stamping in Versafinen Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

I have used the following Lavinia Stamps:

  • Woodland Sprite
  • English Bluebell
  • Heartfelt Verse
  • Foliage Set
  • Mini Stars
I hae also used, Memento Ink, Distress Oxide Ink, Gel Pens and Posca Pens.

Avery Elle Weight lifting 18th Birthday Card

The son of our friends will be 18 soon, so I wanted to make a birthday card for him.

He is also training for a weight lifting competition, so I wanted to make the card themed to this, but it has proven easier said than done.

There is a definite lack of stamps which fit this theme.  In the end, a crafting friend pointed me in the direction of a listing on Etsy for a discontinued stamp set by Avery Elle.  The only problem is that it was in America.  I bit the bullet and purchased it, at an extortionate postage cost and it arrived this week.

(this is the original draft card)

Now I have the stamp and know the size of it, I need to create the card and I am not in the mood for it at all.  Here are two attempts.  The one without the blue border was my draft, I then made what was to be the card to give, but I don't like it.  It is too busy.  So I need to make another one. I'll leave it for today and see if I have other ideas for it tomorrow.

I've used the Avery Elle stamp for the main figure, with the Visible Image stencil called "Time Tunnel" in the background.

Clear Embossing ink and powder over Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I then used two shades of Brusho paint granules (Gamboge and Ost.Red), sprinkled over the image and then spritzed with water.

Once dry, around the edge I used the Funky Fossil "A7 Inky Grid" stamp with Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I splattered black and white paint from Posca Pens across the surface and added some dots of "Ruby Red" Liquid Pearls.

Hobby Art Ltd "Spring has Sprung CS121D" Easter Card

Well it is Good Friday, I have no idea where this year is disappearing to!

This morning I remembered an Easter stamp set I have in my stash, that rarely gets used, so decided to make an Easter card.

I have used the Hobby Art Ltd clear stamp set called "Spring Has Sprung CS121D".  I have stamped the image and sentiment with Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink. I have used Distress Oxide Inks (Tatterered Rose, Weathered Wood, Scattered Straw, Tea Dye and Picked Raspberry), applied with a paint brush.  I added extra detail using a white gel pen and a 2B pencil.

Funky Fossil Designs "Dreaming of Japan" card

Today, I have played with a new stamp set from Funky Fossil Designs called "Dreaming of Japan".

I especially liked the fish on this set, so it was an obvious choice to start making something with that stamp.

I started with a piece of dark blue card and used the Funky Fossil "Pebbles Stencil" with "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Ink. I then die cut a circle shape from the card.

On a piece of white card, I stamped the fish three times using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I coloured the fish using white, black and orange Posca Pens and then cut them out, sticking them on the circle background.

On a piece of white card, I used "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide inks throughthe  Funky Fossil "Fish Background" stencil.  Then mounted the circle onto the white stencilled card.

In the bottom right hand corner of the card, I stamped "Good Luck" using Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink.  I then added small gold dots using a gel pen, between the pebbles on the blue background.

Hobby Art "Spring Scenes CS091D" New Home Card

I've had a few days off crafting and I have missed it.  I have a few ideas flying around my head at the moment, but before having a play session, I needed to get a couple of essential cards out of the way.

One card that needed to be made was a new home card for the parents of our friends, who have just down sized into a new build.  A big step when you are getting on in years!

I have used a Hobby Art Ltd stamp from their "Spring Scenes CS091D" clear stamp set.  Stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink and coloured with Distress Oxide inks applied with a paint brush.

The "Home" sentiment is part of a Papertrey Ink stamp set called "Wreath For All Seasons", which I have stamped in Versafine Clair "Blue Belle" ink.

Card-io Majestix "Round Tree" Winter Hare Scene

With the high wind and rain lashing against the windows, my crafting has sent me into a Winter direction, creating this card.

I used the Card-io Majestix "Round Tree" stencil with Distress Oxide Inks.  I then created the image within the stencilled tree.

I used four stamp sets by Card-io Majestix:  Peaceful Panorama, Field Day, Wildflower Woods and Mini Tall Trees, stamped in various shades of Versafine Clair Inks. I added splatters of white Posca Pen to create the look of snow falling.

Lavinia Stamps "Mooch" and the reflection

This evening, I have been playing with my Lavinia Stamps creating reflections.

For the background, I have used a gel plate print I'd made a while back using Distress Oxide Inks.

I have used three Lavinia Stamps "Mooch the cat", the "Floral Wreath" and the "Foliage Set".  All stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I have coloured using Distress Oxide Inks and also Derwent Inktense Pencils.

Lavinia Stamps "Fantasea" Baby Girl Card

I received news today that our friends are new grand parents to a baby girl, so decided to copy the card I made yesterday, but in a pink colour way.

As before, I used the Lavinia Stamps "Elegance" stencil with their "Fantasea" and one of the "Wild Hares".

The sentiment is part of a Personal Impressions stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Maple Leaf" Card

Taking inspirations from super talented Eileen Godwin, I made this card.

I masked off an area at the base of the card and used two shades of Distress Oxide Inks (Twisted Citron and Iced Spruce), then removed the masking tape to reveal a band of colour.

I used the Lavinia Stamps "Maple Leaf stamp", stamped in Versafine Clair 'Nocturne" black ink and "Cornflower Blue" Archival Ink, stamped in both first and second generation stamping.

I used the "Heartfelt Verse" sentiment stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.  Finally, I added some splatters of white paint using a Posca Pen.

Lavinia Stamps "Minni & Moo" Birthday Card

I'm on a roll, sharing my second card of the day using Lavinia Stamps.

This card was really quick to make.  I masked off the edges of the card, then filled the middle with "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide Ink.

I then lay the Lavinia "White Orbs Stencil" over the background and applied three shades of Distress oxide Inks through the stencil (Bundled Sage, Victorian Velvet and Tumbled Glass).

I then stamped "Minnie and Moo" mice figures, part of the Lavinia recent release, along with the "Musical Notes small" set, all stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  I used the same ink to stamp the sentiments, which are part of the Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday".

Finally, I used the "Mini Stars" stamp to stamp around the musical notes.  I used a white gel pen to add highlights and a silver glitter Signo Pen to add a little sparkle.

Lavinia Stamps "Indra" on a Brusho Gel Plate background

This morning I used one of my lesser used Lavinia Stamps to create this card.

In my stash, I found a background I had made many months ago, using a circular Gel Plate and Brusho paints, so I decided that this would be my base.

I used the Lavinia "Indra" large moth stamp, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink and then coated in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

Around the edge of the circle and moth, I used "Shaded Lilac" Distress Oxide Ink through the Lavinia "Feather Leaf Stencil".  I decided this was too pale, so I then used both the large and the small "Maple Leaf" stamps, in two shades of Archival Inks "Fern Green" and "Prickly Pear".

I used a white Gelly Roll Pen to add highlights to areas of the leaves and the moth.  I added two shades of Liquid Pearls "White Opal" and "Lavender Lace" to areas of the card too.

Lavinia Stamps "Tilly and Mooch"

Tilly was just hanging around, trying to get Mooch's attention!

I used a small Gel Plate/Brusho background I had in my stash as the base of this card.  Using Distress Oxide ink through the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf" stencil.

I stamped in various shades of Versafine Clair inks, using the following Lavinia Stamps:  Mooch, Tilly and Tango, Fairy Charms, Foliage Set, Woodland Ferns and Fern Branch.

I added extra shading and colour using Van Goch Pastel Pencils, Gelly Roll and Posca Pens.

Card-io Majestix Easter Card

It's the first of April, my first "Hot Cross Bun" has been eaten and Easter isn't far away, so I decided to make an Easter card.

I have used four sets of Card-io Majestix stamps to create this card:  Basket & Bows, Eggstra Special, Winter View and Freesia & Violet sets.

I have stamped in Versafine Clair and Memento Inks, using Distress Oxide Ink for the mottled background shade.
