Stampers Anonymous "Crazy Dogs CMS271" Birthday Card

One of our favourite little people will be celebrating his fourth birthday next week.  This is the card I made for him.

For the main image, I have used the Stampers Anonymous "Crazy Dogs CMS271" red rubber/cling set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

I have coloured the image using a mix of Distress Oxide Inks, applied with a paint brush and Van Goch Pastel Pencils.

The sentiment is part of the Hobby Art Ltd set called "Greetings for Friends CS158D".

The "4th" is par of a Docrafts Forever Friends stamp set.

Lavinia Stamps "Hare in the Woodland Ferns"

A quick play with another one of the new Lavinia Stamps, this time it's the "Woodland Ferns" which I am sure will feature regularly in my future makes!

First, I stamped the "Woodland Ferns" in first and second generation stamping using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

I then stamped the hare, part of the "Wild Hare" stamp set in two shades of Versafine Clair Inks "Acorn" and "Pinecone" which are shades of brown ink.

I then used two shades of Distress Oxide Inks (Iced Spruce and Victorian Velvet) through the Lavinia "Tall Leaf Mask".

I added touches of yellow to the fern area using a Posca Pen and white highlights to the hare using a Gelly Roll Pen, before stamping the "Heartfelt Verse" sentiment in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Forest Inn" Tag

Today I received my order of the seven new Lavinia Stamps, so after I had listed them on my spreadsheet and filed them away in their correct sections, I pulled one out to use... it would have been rude not to!

For the background, I used a piece of card that I had used to mop up blue and pink inks from a previous project, and cut it into a tag shape.

I stamped the new "Forest Inn" (toadstool house) in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I then stamped it again on a post-it note and cut around the shape to make a mask, (after I have used the masks, I retain them for future use).

Laying the mask over the image on the tag, I created the landscape and then stamped the trees, using the "Red Pine" trees in first and second generation stamping using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the "Path".  In the foreground I stamped the "Creeping Vine", the "Small Branch" and foliage.

I used Distress Oxide Inks and Van Goch Pastel Pencils to colour the scene, adding touches of gelly roll pen and Posca Pens too

Penny Black "Skyward 40-500" on a Brusho background

Sometimes, I find it nice to have a play without any agenda, no planning, just seeing what I end up with when I'm done. This is one of those makes.

I had a quick Brusho play session, thowing colours down and seeing what I ended up with.  Once dry, I really couldn't think how I could use it.  But decided to stamp the tree, which is a Penny Black cling stamp called "Skyward 40-500" in Versafine Clair Nocturne, black ink.  I then coated it in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

The more I look at this, the more it reminds me of a church window!

Lavinia Stamps "Dragon Pods on Kraft card

I thought I would try something a bit different today, so have used Kraft card as a base and pastel pencils for colouring.

I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Dragon Pods" using Versafine Clair "Golden Meadow".  This allowed me to see the outline of the stamped image, without it being too obvious.

I then used Van Goch Pastel Pencils and two shades of Gelly Roll pens to colour the image.

I stamped the "Heartfelt Verse" sentiment using versasfine Clair "Shady Lane" greey ink.

Funky Fossil Designs "Prehistoric" Grunge Card

The past few weeks I've been in Lavinia and Penny Black mode.  This afternoon, I felt an urge to play with my Funky Fossil Designs goodies, creating this card.

In my stash of previously made backgrounds, I found a page from an accountancy book which I had used to mop up Distress Oxide Inks from my glass mat, so I decided to use this for the base. All stamping is in various shades of Versafine Clair Inks.

For the central image, I used the Funky Fossil "Prehistoric" stamp set.

Around the edge of the central image I used a Funky Fossil stencil called "Abstract Pattern" with a brown Distress Ink.

I then used two of the Funky Fossil A7 stamps in the corners "Grungy" and "Inky Grid".

Finally, using a white Derwent Inktense pencil, I lightened the central stamped image.  I used white and red Posca Pens to add splatters across the surface too.

Lavinia Stamps "Hare Set"

I loathe to throw out small pieces of card, so this morning, I set myself a challenge of using a piece of white card measuring 8.5cm. The central image measures 5.5cm.

I used the following Lavinia Stamps:

  • Wild Hare Set
  • Foliage Set
  • Small Branch
  • Heartfelt Verse

I stamped in Versafine Clair Inks on a background using Distress Inks.

  • Aged Mahogany
  • Scattered Straw
  • Tumbled Glass
  • Victorian Velvet
I have stamped the three Lavinia StampsBell Flower Vine, Mini Dots and Heartfelt Verse in Archival Inks (Cornflower Blue and Orange Blossom). I also added white dots to break up the colour a little, using a white Signo pen.

Lavinia Stamps "Fox in the snow" Card

Here's another little card I've made today, using Lavinia Stamps.

While tidying my desk the other day, I came across a small secion of one of the Lavinia Scenescapes, so I decided to use it rather than bin it.

I used the standing fox from the Lavinia Stamps "Fox Set 1" stamped in three shades of Versafine Clair inks:  Tulip Red, Acorn and Fir Cone.  I created a mask of the fox and fixed over the image and then stamped the "Red Pine" trees in Versafine Clair "Rainforest" green ink.

Using "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Ink I grounded the fox and added extra depth of colour to the sky using "Seedless Preserve" Distress Oxide ink.

I used a white gel pen to add detail to the fur of the fox and then tapped a white Posca Pen over the surface to create snowflakes in the air.

Lavinia Stamps "Fairy Castle" Card

Today, I am back with another Lavinia Stamps make.

I stamped the "Fairy Castle 2" and the "Path" in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink and then stamped them again on a post-it note, cutting around the image to make a mask.

I masked off both the castle and path then used Distress Oxide inks with the Lavinia "Floral" stencil.

While the mask was still in place, I stamped the "Christmas Tree Group" in first and second generation stamping using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

I coloured the castle and path using Distress Oxide Inks and Derwent Inktense Pencils.  I then multi stamped the "Small Branch" using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.

I used the "Foliage Set" with various shades of inks to create the flower bed at the foregraound of the card.

I added berries to the tree branch and created flower heads using different colours of Posca pens.

Penny Black "Farm Fresh 40-834" Sentiment Card

I really enjoyed creating the earlier card, so while the stamps and inks were still on my work desk, I decided to create another card with the same set, but this time with a central sentiment.

This time, I have just used the flowers from the largest of the three stamps within the Penny Black "Farm Fresh 40-834" cling stamp set.  Stamping them in "Spun Sugar" Distress Ink.

In the middle I stamped the sentiment, which is part of the Penny Black "Not Older, Better 30-896" clear stamp set.  I stamped in Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" Ink and then stamped some more flowers around the edge of the card in the same ink.

I used "Picked Raspberry" Distress Oxide Ink and a paint brush to add a touch of extra colour to the darker flowers.  Using a yellow Posca Pen for the central area of each flower head.

Penny Black "Farm Fresh 40-834" Card

Today I have played with a new cling stamp from Penny Black Inc .  The stamp is part of a set called "Farm Fresh 40-834" and comes with two other stamps.

I used a selection of products to create this card including stamping in "Seedless Preserve" and "Antique Linen" Distress Inks, colouring with Derwent Inktense water colour pencils and Distress Oxide Inks. For the background colour, I used "Bundled Sage" Distress Oxide ink applied with a brush.

Lavinia Stamps "Using up scraps" card

I had a re-jig of my craft desk and found some bits and bobs that had been hanging around for a while and were destined for the bin.  I sorted out the ocean related items and matched it with a small off-cut of a background I had created some time ago.  Just enough to make an ATC (Artist Trading Card).

The design of the background was a scrap using the Lavinia Stamps "Charming Stecil".  I inked the edges is a couple of shades of blue and then sprinkled water droplets from a fan paint brush then blotted dry.

I had an envelope of electrically die cut items using the following Lavinia Stamps:  Seaweed, Marine Kelp and Flo the fish", which I coloured, arranged a layout and stuck into position.  I then stamped the "Sea Bubbles" using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Crow on a branch" card (Inspired by Eileen Godwin)

I was inspired by a background Eileen Godwin created and attempted to create one similar.  I didn't have the same brushes, so used the thin edge of a wedged make up sponge, it didn't provide the hard edge I was looking for, but gave a softer look over all.

I used Archival Inks, Distress Inks and Versafine Clair inks with three Lavinia Stamps: Words of Spring, Tree Branch and Crow Set.

Lavinia Stamps 'Noof the cat" card

I've been away for the weekend in the caravan and I really missed my crafting, so as soon as the first load of washing was in the machine, I decided to make a card.

I have used Lavinia Stamps "Noof" the cat stamp as the main feature of the card.  Stamped in Versafine Clair and coloured with Derwent Inktense Water Colour Pencils.

I the background, I have used Various shades of blue Distress Oxide Inks through the Lavinia "Coral" stencil.  Over the top, I multi stamped the Lavinia "Small Branch" stamp, using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist"grey ink. I then added splatters of white, black and a soft orange Posca Pen.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the "Just for you" sentiment, which is part of the Lavinia "Heartfelt Verse" stamp set.

Lavinia Stamps "Fairytale" Gift Tag

Up early this morning and found a background I had created from mopping up Distress Ink from my glass mat some months ago, so cut it into a tag shape and started stamping.

There is actually a lot of shimmer and glitter on this tag, which unfortunately the photograph doesn't pick up.

I paired two Lavinia Stamps up, that I thought worked well together:  "Fairytale" and "Fairy Dandelions" for the main feature and the "Foliage Set" for the foreground, all stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

I used one of the Lavinia "Mini Stars" stamp in the background stamped in Memento Ink.

I used shimmer, glitter and Posca Pens for the extra details.

I stamped the hedgehogs using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, then coloured them with "Gathered Twigs" Distress Oxide Ink.  I created a landscape using a torn edge of paper with Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink and a little of the "Iced Spruce" Distress Oxide Ink,

Lavinia Stamps "Noof" the cat

This morning I received my order of the seven new stamps released by Lavinia Stamps on Thursday.  Included in the seven is a fabulous stamp of a cat called "Noof", so I obviously had to try him out!

Noof Is a large stamp, which I inked and stamped the image with Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.  I also stamped the new "Witches Hat" that Noof is wearing in the same ink.

I grounded Noof using "Graphite" Elements ink and more Nocurne.

Around Noof, I used the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf Stencil" with "Saltwater Taffy" Distress Oxide Ink.

I coloured the hat using Derwent Inktense pencils and coloured Noof using the Elements Ink "Graphite" applied with a paint brush.

At the base of the card, I stamped foliage using the Lavinia "Foliage Set".

I added splatters of colours to the background using "Seedless Preserve" and "Rustic Wilderness" Distress Oxide ink,  I also diluted some white Gesso and splattered that around Noof too.

Finally I added touches of sparkle using a glitter gelly roll pen.

Lavinia Stamps "Bria Rose" on a "Leaf Mask" background

Penny Black Stamps "Brilliance 40-806" Just For You Card

This morning I decided to play with a new Distress Oxide Ink, recently released by the Ranger/Tim Holtz brand combo. The ink is called "Saltwater Taffy" and is a soft coral pink shade.

I stamped the Penny Black "Brilliance 40-806" cling stamp in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" second generation stamping to achieve a light coloured image.  I then coloured the leaves with "Crushed Olive" and "Rustic Wilderness" Distress Oxide Inks.  I felt it needed more colour, so I added contrast using Derwent Inktense pencils.  For the berries, I used "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink, adding extra detail with coloured pencils and a white Gelly Roll pen.

I then moved on to the background, using a Funky Fossil Designs stencil called "Micro Dots" with the new "Saltwater Taffy" Distress Oxide Ink.
