Art Impressions "Girlfriends - Wine Tasters" Birthday Card

This card was a late evening make, using the Art Impressions "Girlfriends - Wine Tasters" cling stamp for this birthday card for a friend.  I stamped the image using second generation Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink as I didn't want hard solid outlines of the image.

I've coloured the image using assorted Distress Oxide Inks, applied with a paint brush.  I've used a Lawn Fawn sentiment stamp from their "Simply Sentiments' stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Medieval Blue" ink.

Stampin' Up "Big On Birthdays" Card

Early February is a busy month of birthdays, so I am trying to get ahead of myself and getting the cards made ready for posting.

For this card, I have used a large sentiment from the Stampin' Up clear stamp set called "Big On Birthdays".  I have stamped the image in Versafine Clair "Purple Delight" ink, then coated with Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

Once dry, I used a Lavinia Stamps stencil called "Leaf Trails" with "Milled Lavender" Distress Oxide Ink around the edge of the central centiment.

I have used Derwent Inktense colouring pencils to colour the flowers.

Lavinia Stamps "Woodland Sprite and Bogart" Card

Last week, Lavinia Stamps launched a new set of stamps to add to their existing collection.  Obviously, I placed my order immediately.  The stamps arrived yesterday but I didn't have an opportunity to play with them, which I addressed today, making this card.

A couple of Artist Trading Cards

In an attempt to tidy my work desk, I decided to use some of the left over bits and bobs from previous craft projects that had been floating around for a while.

I found a piece of a gel plate project that I had made, using Pan Pastels and a Funky Fossil Designs stencil called "Lots of Pips" which I used for the background of both of these ATCs.

For the top ATC, I used some die cuts that I'd cut months ago, using the Funky Fossil "Quirky Tree Dies" and the "Hello" Die.

For the bottom  ATC, I used the Funky Fossil "Weird Fish" stamp set for the fish, stamped onto an off cut of one of their patterned papers from the Kaleidescope pad.  I used the Funky Fossil A7 "Lots of Hearts" stamp and the "Love &" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" ink.

Visible Image "Nuts About Squirrels" Card

For anybody that follows my Instagram, you will know that I have red squirrels visit my garden each day and that I'm a little addicted to them!  So when Visible Image brought out the "Nuts About Squirrels" stamp set, it was a no brainer purchase.  For some reason, I've not got round to using it till today.

For the background area, I have used Brusho paint granules sprinkled on to damp paper, which allows the paint to spread, with makes different colours to pop.  Once dry, I then stamped teh Visible Image "Fibonacci" scroll and grid using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

I also stamped the "You're my kind of nutty" sentiment, part of the Visible Image "Nuts About Squirrels" stamp set in the same ink.

I then stamped the squirrel on to the card, using Versafine Clair "Acorn" and "Fallen Leaves" brown inks, I stamped the same image on to a piece of white card too using the same shades.

I coloured the squirrel on the white card, using Distress Oxide Inks and Sakura Gelly Roll pens. I then cut the image out and adhered on to the card.

Funky Fossil Vintage Valentine Card

Are you so over the festive season?  I found it quite refreshing making this vintage style Valentine's card using an assortment of products from Funky Fossil Designs.

I had a tidy of my desk and found a project part way through that I had forgotten about, so I decided to work with what I had and make a card.

For the background, I used the Funky Fossil "Woodgrain Heart Stencil" with Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink. I then used the Funky Fossil " A7 Woodgrain stamp" with "Ground Espresso" Distress Oxide Ink. (The project was at this stage when I found it).

I decided to mask off the heart and used "Evergreen Bough" with a blending brush to create the green blue background.  Using the same ink, I stamped the script using the Funky Fossil "A7 Vintage Script stamp".

Around the edge of the card, I used more "Ground Espresso" Distress Oxide Ink to give it a more vintage look.  I then splattered water droplets from a fan paint brush, left them for a few seconds before lifting off the surplus water with paper towel.

Finally, I used one of the words from the Funky Fossil "MDF Positive Words set", coloured with "Tulip Red" Versafine Clair ink and adhered to the front of the card.

Recycled Wrapping Paper Gift Bag and Card

Happy New Year to you.  Thank you for taking a look at my little blog of makes.  Your interactions are always very much appreciated and I wish you well for 2022!

A few days ago, I celebrated my Birthday.  One of my friends called round with a present for me wrapped is some beautiful wrapping paper, which had a William Morris design.  I commented on it and she said that she had actually recycled it from a present she had received, saying that she was attempting to recycle as much gift wrappings as possible.

After I had unwrapped my gift, I put the paper to one side, wonding what I could do with it.  Then inspiration struck.  My friends birthday is in a couple of weeks, so I decided to reuse the pretty wrapping paper.

Some of the paper had been well used.  I started by removing as much sticky tape as I could and then cut off the most tatty areas of the wrapping paper.  I then ironed the paper on a medium heat to try to remove the fold lines from previous use.  There are still a few, but because the pattern is quite busy, it does hide most of them.

I decided I would make a gift bag for her present.  I wasn't really sure where to start, but I did find a little tutorial on-line to help me.  This is the one that I watched.  It was simple enough to create.  I found some co-ordinating ribbon to thread through for the handles.  I then wrapped her gift in the same paper.

I had deliberately retained a large flat area of wrapping paper for the card front, I cut it square, mounted it on some nice grey/green card and then on to a cream card blank.

I'm really happy with the way the trio look and I'm certain my friend will appreciate my recycling efforts too.

Maybe 2022 will be the year of reduce, reuse and recycle for me!
