Metro Tile Background Birthday Card

Our friend, who is a tiler celebrates his birthday today, so I made him a card with a Metro Tile style background, using the Funky Fossil Brick Wall stencil with "Speckled Egg" Distress Oxide Ink and a heat embossed Versafine Clair ink sentiment using the Stampin' up "Big on Birthdays" stamp set.

Papertrey Ink "New Home" Gift Tag (featuring the Funky Fossil Sunray Stencil)

Our friends move into a new house shortly, so I made a gift tag to go on their present.

To make this tag, I Used a stamp set by Papertrey Ink called "Winter Hills".  I stamped the house, then stamped it again on a post-it note and cut the shape out to create a mask.  I then stamped the trees, which were from the same set.

Leaving the mask in place, I covered the tag in a light coat of "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Ink.  In. the sky, I then covered it with "Faded Jeans" Distress Oxide ink.  I lay the Funky Fossil Designs "Sunray Stencil" over the top and applied "Wilted Violet" Distress Oxide Ink.  I then splattered water droplets from a fan shaped paint brush to create speckles like snow/stars.  Then lifted the stencil.

On the land area in the foreground.  I used "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide with a chisel shaped paint brush to create the path from the door to the edge of the tag.  I then brushed the remaining ink on the brush in the garden area.

I used a white Gelly Roll pen to highlight the branches and snow/landscape.  A yellow Posca Pen for the lights in the windows and a coloured pencil for the roof area.

Finally, using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the "Welcome" word, which was also part of the Papertrey Ink "Winter Hills" stamp set.

Card-io Snow Family Christmas Card

I'm still working my way through my "To Do" list.  With just two more items to do, which I am so happy about!

I made this card for our three Grandchildren in South Wales.  We won't see them for Christmas, but will be popping down to see them before the festive period.

I used a number of shades of Distress Oxide Inks to create the background sky and landscape.  I stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink and "Morning Mist" grey ink, colouring the snowmen with Posca Pens.

I used the following Card-io stamp sets:  Snow Family, Winter Wonderland and Winter Breeze.

The sentiment is by Waffle Flower Crafts and is part of their "Essential Sentiments" stamp set.  Once I had layered and mounted the image on to the card base, I added glitter to the card, which unfortunately doesn't show up too much in the photograph.

Tim Holtz Gingham and Holiday Greens Christmas Card

Another Christmas card made, just because I was in the mood to play.

I've used the Tim Holtz Gingham Layering Stencil (THS134) with "Rustic Wilderness" and "Tea Dye" Distress Oxide Inks to create the backgound.

I die cut the holly using a Tim Holtz Sizzix "Holiday Greens Thinlits - 658759" and stuck onto the card.  I added splatters of white paint to simulate snow.  I then added some red sparkly gems for the holly berries.

Finally, I stamped the Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words - Christmas" sentiment using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

Carabelle Studio "Postcard" Birthday Card

Here's a Birthday card I made this morning, using a number of techniques.  It has a gel plate background, there's stamping, die cutting and heat embossing too!

I used Distress Oxide Inks on the gel plate to create the background.  I then used the Carabelle Studio "Background Postcard", stamped in Versafine Clair "Chianti" ink.  I then coloured the butterflies with an orange coloured pencil.

I then die cut the "Hello" sentiment, using the Waffle Flower "Oversized Hello".  I stamped a sentiment from the same stamp and die set in Versafine Clair "Chianti" and heat embossed using Wow! clear embossing powder.

I used "Abandoned Coral" Distress Oxide Ink around the edges of the card, before mounting it on to a darker card to create a border.

Day 24 of the "24 Days of Tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer

Here it is, my Day 24 tag, the final one of the "24 Days of Tags 2021 challenge with Karen Telfer.  I've really enjoyed creating these tags.  There hasn't been anything too taxing and it's been a pleasure to craft because I want to, rather than making something for an occasion.

I've used Kraft card for the background.  I've used a Waffle Flower sentiment from their "Essential Sentiments" stamp set and the Lavinia Stamps "Mystic Swirl" with Wow! clear embossing ink and their Super Fine Bright White embossing powder heat set to create this tag.

Card-io "Baskets and Bows" Floral Birthday Card

I seem to be chasing my tail so much that I decided to make a list of things that I needed to do and just work my way through them.  The list consists of cards to be made, presents to be wrapped, posting Christmas cards and renewing stuff too.   This seems to have worked as I have managed to put a line through a few of the tasks.

This is a card I have made for a friend that likes to garden, which was ideal as I wanted to try out a Card-io clear stamp set I had recently purchased, called "Baskets and Bows".

I've used four different Card-io stamp sets for this card:  Basket and Bows, Wild Flowers, Tiny Trailers and Sweet Hearts.  I've stamped in an assortment of inks, includine Versafine Clair, Memento and Distress Oxide Inks.  I've used touches of gelly roll pens and coloured pencils too.

The sentiment is one from a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Birthday" which I absolutely adore.  I'm not one for huge, smack you in the face verse and sentiments so this stamp set is ideal for me.

Day 23 of the "24 Days of tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer

It's the penultimate day of the tag challenge.  This is my Day 23 make of the "24 Days of tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer with a "Bokeh" theme.

I've used a Funky Fossil Designs stencil called "Bokeh Builder" with three shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Spun Sugar, Tumbled Glass and Speckled Egg to create the background.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp the Papertrey Ink sentiment, which is part of thier "Christmas Cheer" stamp set.  I used the same ink to stamp the snowflake, which came free with a magazine.  Finally, I added some dots of "White Opal" Liquid Pearls to the middle of each snowflake.

Day 22 of the "24 Days of Tags 2021" with Karen Telfer

This is my Day 22 tag, with a prompt of "A little bit of everything", and I have certainly put lots on this tag.

For the base of this tag, I have used the Tim Holtz "Gingham Layering Stencil - THS134" with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Ink.

The snowman and the Christmas tree are both Card-io stamps, stamped in Versafine Calir inks and coloured with Posca Pens.

I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder for the dry snowflake embossing.  I've used an Anna Griffin stamp for the Cherub, heat embossed using Wow! Rich Gold embossing powder and heat set.

I did cut the snowflakes, which were a Cuttlebug thinlet die... not seen the light of day for a couple of years at least!

I've used assorted other stamps I found in my stash.  For the sentiments, I used the Simon Says Stamp "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set with Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  I think the string of lights embellishments are by Papermania/Docrafts.

Day 21 of the "24 Days of Tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer.

This is my Day 21 tag, part of the "24 Days of Tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer.

I used a Funky Fossil stamp set called "Fa La La" stamp set for the central sentiment, heat embossed using Wow! Rich Gold" embossing powder.

In the background I used two shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry with the Funky Fossil "Holly Background Stencil".

Using Versafine Clair "Glamorous" pink ink, I stamped areas of the Funky Fossil A7 "Face the music" stamp.

I splattered gold and black paint across the surface and drew a wavy black line around the edge of the tag using a thin pointed black pen.

Day 19 of the "24 Days of Tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer.

For the Day 19 tag, Karen asked us to use something we had not used before.

Earlier in the year,  I had purchased the "Christmas Eve" Visible Image stamp set in their sale, so this seemed to be the ideal time to break open the packet.

I stamped the images in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, using first and second generation stamping.

I created the background using several shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Villainous Potion.

I used a white gelly roll pen to add highlights to the Christmas trees and then used Paperartsy "Snowflake" white acrylic chalk paint to create the falling snow.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment, which was from a Woodware stamp set in "Nocturne" black ink.

Day 20 of the "24 Days of Tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer

This is my Day 20 Tag, somehow I have realised I've skipped Day 19, so I'll do that tomorrow.

I've used Festive Berries, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles Distress Oxide Inks swooshed, dried and then more swooshing to get a more intense colour.  I've then used the same inks through the Funky Fossil "Organic Circles" stencil.

I used a metallic gold paint on the edge of the tag and also splattered across the surface.  I then splattered the paint from a white and a black Posca Pens.

Using Wow! clear embossing ink I stamped the rose from the Visible Image "Forever Love" stamp set on the bottom corner of the tag, then coated the area with Wow! Rich Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.  I then repeated the process by stamping on white card.  I painted the rose in "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink and then cut around it and adhered onto the tag.

Day 18 of the "24 Days of tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer

Yey, I've managed to get up to date, this is my Day 18 tag. I've used a Funky Fossil Designs "Snow is falling" stencil with Distress Oxide Inks (Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire and Villainous Potion).

I used the Funky Fossil "Elegant Ornaments" stamp set for the Christmas ornament and the sentiment, stamped in Wow! clear embossing ink and coated with Wow! Super fine metallic silver embossing powder and heat set.

I coloured the ornament using "Villainous Potion" Distress Oxide inks, applied with a paint brush.

Day 17 of the "24 Days of Tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer.

Still playing catch up, but here is my Day 17 tag (taking part in the "24 Days of Tags 2021 challenge" with Karen Telfer. The prompt for today was "A bit of everything".  I think I've covered a few things with this tag.

For the background, I have used four shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness.

I used the Lavinia Stamps "Coral" stencil, spritzed with water and then laid on top of the tag, to achieve the bleached look. I then used a heat gun to dry the surface.

I used Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink to stamp Lavinia Stamps "Rufus" the fox, the "Tree Branch" and one of the crows from the "Crow Set".

In the background, I used Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" to stamp the Lavinia Stamps "Magic Surrounds Us" verse stamp.

I flicked water droplets on to the tag using a fan brush and then blotted.  I then flicked diluted "Rustic Wilderness" Distress Oxide Ink on to the tag in the same way.

I used Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink and the torn edge of a piece of paper to create the landscape behind "Rufus".  I used the same ink to ink the edges of the tag, which pulls the eye in to the image itself.

I used a dark green and dark grey coloured pencil to ground Rufus.  Then added highlights to the fur, the crow and the branches using a white gelly roll pen.

Day 16 of the "24 Days of Tags Challenge 2021" with Karen Telfer

I'm playing catch up with my tags, as I've been away in the caravan this weekend, so this is the first of three that I need to make to be back on track.

I've used four shades of Distress Oxide Inks for the background:  Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold, Abandoned Coral and Festive Berries.

I spritzed the surface of a Lavinia Stamps stencil called "Foliage" with water, then lay it wet side down, over the tag.  I used a kitchen towel to absorb any surplus water then lifted the stencil, which reveals a bleached look image of the stencil. I then used a heat gun to dry the surface.

Once dry, I stamped the sentiment, by Lavinia Stamps, called "Heartfelt Verse" in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I used the same ink to stamp the Lavinia Stamps "Wild Vines" too.

Next, I stamped the hanging hearts, which are part of the Lavinia Stamps "Fairy Charms" stamp set, using Versafine Clair "Glamorous" pink ink.  I then added small white dots on the surface of the background and highlighting areas on the hanging hearts.

Day 15 of "24 Days of Tags 2021" with Karen Telfer

This is my Day 15 tag, part of the "24 Days of Tags 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer.  Today the prompt was "Circles".

I've used the Lavinia Stamps "White Orbs" stencil in the background with "Tumbled Glass" and "Peacock Feathers" Distress Oxide Inks.  Using a couple of plastic caps I had on my desk, I dipped them in "Mermaid Lagoon" Distress Oxide Ink to create the layered circles.

I used the same three shades of Distress Oxide Inks to create the circles.  Stamped with Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" and heat embossed with Wow! Clear Embossing Powders.  I used the Lavinia Stamps "Mini Holly Stamp", a Crafters Companion "Script Stamp" and a Simon Says Stamp sentiment from their "Tiny Words - Christmas" stamp set.  A couple of the discs were elevated by die cutting funky foam to the same size as the disc, to give a 3D look,

Lavinia Stamps "Winter Berries" with Funky Fossil "Fern" stencil

I had the urge to make another tag this evening, this being the result. I'd made a card some time ago that looks very similar, so decided to use the same technique for a tag.

I used the Funky Fossil Designs "Fern Silhouette stencil" with "Bundled Sage" and "Peeled Paint" Distress Oxide Inks.

I stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Winter Berries" using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.  I coloured the berries using a paint brush and two Distress Oxide Ink colours:  "Festive Berries" and "Candied Apple".  I then coated the berries in Ranger "Glossy Accents" and set aside to dry.

The sentiment is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words - Christmas", again stamped in "Acorn" Versafine Clair Ink.

Day 14 of the "24 Days of Tags 2021" with Karen Telfer

I'm up and crafting early today, so here is my Day 14 tag of the "24 Days of Christmas 2021" challenge with Karen Telfer, opting to go for a vintage look for my tag.

I've used "Antique Linen" and "Tea Dye" Distress Oxide inks with the Lavinia Stamps "Leaf Trail" stencil.

I've stamped in Versafine Clair Chianti" ink using the Lavinia Stamps "Christmas Tree Fairy" verse and their "Christmas Eve" stamp for the main image.

I have coloured the tree and presents using a selection of coloured pencils, Signo Pens and Gelly Roll pens.
