Northern Lights

Last week, certain areas of the UK were able to see the Northern Lights, sadly I didn't get to see them, but seeing photos in the press prompted me to make a card on the theme.

I used a Penny Black slapstick/cling stamp, called "Gorgeous Grove 40-804", stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne' black ink to stamp the tree image.

Once dry, I used Distress Oxide Inks in the following order:  Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Crushed Olive, Mowed Lawn, Wilted Violet, Villainous Potion and Chipped Sapphire. I used the edge of a baby wipe dragged from the landline upwards to achieve the blended colours going upwards.

Once dry, I used my blending brushes with the remaining colour on them to cover the snow area, which added a hint of the colours in the sky. I  used a fan paint brush with water, to splatter water droplets in the sky and then added touches of  a white pen to add snow/stars.
