Lavinia Stamps Reindeer Reflections

Yesterday, Tracey Dutton of Lavinia Stamps gave an on-line tutorial on how to create a reflection using a brayer.  This is my attempt at this technique.

I have used the following Lavinia Stamps:  Small Reindeer, Sea Flower, and the Floral Wreath.

I have used three shades of Versafine Clair ink for the stamping:  Verdant, Shady Lane and Acorn.

I've used four shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Tumbled Glass, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness.

For the small dots (flowers) I've used assorted Posca Pens and Signo Pens.

Lavinia Stamps "Silhouette Thistle" stencilled card

Here's a really quick card to make, which has big impact.

I've used "Wild Honey" and "Spiced Marmalade" through the Lavinia Stamps "Elegance" stencil to create the background.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink, I stamped the Lavinia "Silhouette Thistle" stamp.  I then stamped the sentiment which is part of a Personal Impressions stamp set called "Double Saying" using the same ink.

Funky Fossil "Birdsong" Anniversary Card

I've had another play with "Birdsong", one of the new Funky Fossil Stamp sets, released yesterday.

For this card, I have used the gel plate to create the background.  I've used two Funky Fossil stencils, "Overlapping Ovals" and Doodle Border with Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" and "Glamorous".

I then shaded the area with "Picked Raspberry" Distress oxide ink and edged the card with Versafine Clair "Glamorous" pink ink.

I stamped the birds (from the "Birdsong" stamp set) and the sentiment (part of the Funky Fossil Small Print stamp set) on to the prepared background, and then repeated the stamping on to plain white card, using Versafine Clair "Blue Belle" ink.

I used a white Posca Pen to add splatters across the surface of the card.

I painted the birds stamped on the white card, in "Peacock Feather" Distress Oxide ink and a metallic silver pen.  I then cut the bird images out, inked the edges and adhered over the stamped image on the card.

Finally, I covered a small area of white card with Versafine Clair "Glamorous" pink ink and then used a small heart shape punch to cut the heart, which I then adhered between the birds.

Funky Fossil "Magical" Stamp Set Release Day

After five days of previewing lots of new Funky Fossil Designs new goodies, today is the day when you can actually purchase them!

I have used the brand new stamp set called "Magical" for this sample and paired it with the new patterned paper pack from Funky Fossil called "Patina".  Patina is a lovely quality single sided 200gsm patterned paper and has some fabulous designs in shades of blues and golds.  It is an absolute pleasure to use it.  There is also a three pack of Washi tape, also called "Patina" to match this paper.

I used the Funky Fossil "Alpha Numeric" stencil with "Ripe Persimmon" Distress Oxide ink to add the numbers to the background of the paper.  I then added a few splatters of metallic gold and bronze paint and eedged the central area with a metallic gold pen.

Using Wow! Clear Embossing Ink, I stamped the feathers, then coated them with Wow! Rich Metallic Gold super fine embossing powder and heat set.  I used the same process to stamp the sentiment and then die cut it.  I then arranged the components, layering and matting them into position on to a cream linen card blank.  I gave the edges an aged look by lightly brushing "Rusty Hinge" Distress Oxide Ink around the edge of the card.

Funky Fossil "Feeling Sheepish" Stamp Set Release Day

Yey!  Funky Fossil Designs new product release day is here at last.  Today is they day when you can actually purchase some or all of the new release products.

For this sample, I have used the brand new "Feeling Sheepish" clear stamp set, which is designs by my fellow Design Team colleague "Donna Gray".  I've used a blended Distress Oxide Ink background, with stamping in Versafine Clair ink.  I've used Distress Oxide Inks and Posca pens to colour the image.

Funky Fossil "Engine Room" Stamp Set Release Day

The day has arrived when the brand new clear stamp set called "Engine Room" is available to purchase from Funky Fossil Designs.

Here's a card I made using the new stamp set.  I've teamed it with the Funky Fossil "Mechanical" stencil for the background (using Weathered Wood and Iced Spruce Distress Oxide Inks).

The engine is stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, with a sprinkle of Wow! clear embossing powder then heat set.

Funky Fossil "Birdsong" Stamp Set Release Day

Yey!  It seems to have been a long time coming, but today is the release day for the new Funky Fossil "Birdsong" clear stamp set.

The birdsong stamp set is designed by Addie Hanson and I have absolutely loved creating samples using this set.

I have deliberately kept this design very simple as it highlights the beauty of the stamp itself.  Stamping is in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Funky Fossil "Graphic Words" Stamp Set Release Day

Today is the day when lots of brand new Funky Fossil goodies become available to purchase.

For this card, I have used the Funky Fossil "Party Balloons" stencil with Distress Oxide Inks for colour, using "Peacock Feathers" and "Black Soot" shades to colour through the stencil.

I have used the Funky Fossil "Happy Birthday" die, to cut the words in a dark pink coloured card.

Finally, in the bottom left hand corner,  I have samped the sentiment "Make a Wish" using one of the stamps from the brand new Funky Fossil stamp set called "Graphic Words", stamped in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink.

Funky Fossil "Geo Elements" Stamp Set Release Day

After days of showing you lots of tempting new Funky Fossil goodies, today is the day when you can actually shop for the new release items.

For this card, I have used the new Funky Fossil "Geo Elements" stamp set paired with the Funky Fossil "Full Of Love Stencil". The sentiment is a stamp from the Funky Fossil "Small Print" stamp set.

Lavinia Stamps "Wild Flower" Birthday Card

This morning, I have played with Lavinia Stamps again, creating this flower garden card.

For the background, I used a brayer to apply "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide ink on to a small piece of card 3"x3", that I had on my desk.  I graduated the tone from light at the top to a darker green at the base.

I used two shades of Versafine Clair green inks (Verdant and Shady Lane) to stamp the Lavinia "Fairy Barnacles" in the background.

I then used the Lavinia "Wild Flower" stamp  with four shades of Versafine Clair Ink (Purple Delight, Glamorous, Monarch and Medieval Blue).

To make the "Fairy Barnacles" stand out, I added some white with a Posca Pen.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment, which is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Tiny Words Birthday".

Funky Fossil New Die "Leafy Circle" Preview

Today I can share with you a lovely new product which will be released by Funky Fossil Designs, tomorrow.  It is the beautiful "Leafy Circle" die.

For this sample, I have stamped the sentiment (part of the Funky Fossil "Hello Gorgeous" stamp set) using  a Wow! Embossing Ink Pad and then coated the stamped image with Wow! Bright White, Super Fine Embossing Powder and heat set.

I ran the "Leafy Circle" die through my machine and then adhered around the stamped image.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Magical" Preview 2

Here's another sample using the fabulous new Funky Fossil "Magical" stamp set.

I've stamped the image in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink and coloured with Distress Oxide Inks applied with a paint brush.

I used the Funky Fossil "Star Burst" stencil for the background.  I used Wow! Clear Embossing ink through the stencil, then coated the area with Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.  I then used "Dusty Concord" Distress Oxide ink to colour the background, using a piece of paper towel to rub over the star surface to reveal the white stars.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Magical" Preview

It is Day 5 of previewing lots of lovely new goodies from Funky Fossil Designs.  Today I introduce you to the "Magical" clear stamp set, designed by Molly Arts.  The set consists of three feather designs, three sentiments and two feature stamps consisting of several elements.

For this sample, I decided to let the detail of one of the feather stamps in the "Magical" set do the talking by keeping the card very simple.

I used two shades of Versafine Clair inks on the feather stamp:  Morning Mist and Warm Breeze, I feel it gives a little more interest to the feather where the colours change and are lighter and darker.  I heat embossed the stamped image, by coating the feather image with Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and then heat set.

I stamped the sentiment of "Sending healing thoughts" in two lines instead of one, using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Lavinia Stamps Pan Pastel Forest Scene with Pheasant

Earlier today, I saw an on-line video tutorial by Tracey Dutton of Lavinia Stamps, using Pan Pastels.  It reminded me that I already have quite a collection of them, that have not seen the light of day for some months.

I didn't have the same colours that Tracey used, so I have opted for a sunset sky instead, by blending various shades of Pan Pastels.

I stamped the trees, pheasant and birds in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Funky Fossil "African Woman Stencil" gel plate card

This morning I got my gel plate out and had a quick play with a couple of Funky Fossil stencils to create this card.

I used a brayer to apply Versafine Clair "Summertime" orange ink to the gel plate, I popped a piece of copy paper over the inked plate to remove surplus ink, then lay the Funky Fossil "Organic Circles" stencil over the gel plate.  I then placed a piece of card over the top and lightly added pressure across the surface to ensure the negative image of the stencil was on the card.

I removed the card and the stencil, cleaning the stencil, gel plate and the brayer with a wet cloth to remove any residue of ink.

I cut down the printed image to my desired size, then lay the Funky Fossil "African Woman" stencil.  I used some low tack tape to hold the stencil into position.  Using a finger dauber, I applied Versafine Clair "Glamorous" pink ink through the stencil.  Using the same ink, I stamped the sentiment which is part of the Funky Fossil "Lotus Reflections" stamp set.

I used "Picked Raspberry" Distress Oxide ink around the edges of the card, to focus the eye on the main image.  I added a touch of water to the remaining ink on my glass mat, using a fan brush, I splattered the pink ink across the surface of the card, blotting with a piece of kitchen roll. Finally, I inked the outer edge of the card using Versafine Clair "Glamorous" pink ink.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Feeling Sheepish" Preview 3

I've used the brand new Funky Fossil "Feeling Sheepish" stamp set to make this tag with one of their stencils for the background detail.

For the background of the tag, I blended some "Spun Sugar" Distress Oxide Ink from the bottom right hand corner to the top left.  I then lay the Funky Fossil "Knitted Background Stencil" over the tag, using the same coloured ink, I brushed the colour over the surface so that it disappears towards the top of the tag.

I then stamped the sentiment and the sheep on to the tag using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, stamping the sheep again on a small off cut of white card,

I painted the sheep image (the one on the off cut) using Distress Oxide Inks (Spun Sugar, Weathered Wood and Tumbled Glass), using a red Posca Pen to fill the heart shape.  I then cut the sheep image out and adhered on to the tag.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Feeling Sheepish" Preview 2

Here's another sample I have made using the brand new clear stamp set from Funky Fossil Designs called "Feeling Sheepish".

I've used a cream linen card from Papermill Direct for the base of this card.  The reverse of the card is smooth, so I have used that for stencilling the knitted stitch detail using the Funky Fossil "Knitted Background Stencil" with "Tea Dye" Distress Oxide Ink.

Over the top of the knitted background, I have used another Funky Fossil stencil called "Dotty Frame Stencil"  using "Walnut Stain" Distress Oxide ink.

I stamped the "Have a wooly good day" sentiment using Versafine Clair "Pinecone" Brown ink.

I then stamped the sheep on an off-cut of cream coloured card in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.  I coloured the sheep image using "Weathered Wood" and "Spun Sugar" Distress Oxide Ink then cut the shape out.  I used a Sharpie pen to colour the cut edge so that it wasn't too obvious and then adhered on to the prepared background.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Feeling Sheepish" Preview

Brand new and introducing another fabulous clear stamp set from Funky Fossil Designs is "Feeling Sheepish" designed by the super talented "Donna Gray".

"Feeling Sheepish" is such a fun stamp set, which I really enjoyed using.

I created the background using DIstress Oxide Inks, with the top section using the Funky Fossil "Sunray Stencil"

I stamped the sheep on the background and then on to white card, using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, coating it with Wow! Clear embossing powder and then heat setting.  I coloured the image using Posca Pens, finally adding a stamped sentiment using Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Red Pine" Night Scene

Today the weather over Anglesey, is a total contrast to that of yesterday.  I think the only way to describe today is "bleak", with high winds and rain hurtling on to the windows.  It just makes me feel miserable and I think that mood is reflected in the card I've just made.

I started off with a small square off-cut of black card, a fraction under four inches.

I used Brilliance ink in two shades, Platinum Planet and Moonlight White to create the moon.

I then multi stamped the Lavinia Stamps "Red Pine" trees, I used both the small and the large size, using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I then coated the stamping in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

I used the torn edge of a piece of paper with the "Moonlight White" Brilliance ink pad to create the snow scene in the foreground.  I used the same ink very lightly in the sky to create a cloudy look.

Finally, using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the owl.  The owl is part of the Lavinia Stamps "Brodwin and Maylin" stamp set then coated in Wow! clear embossing powder and heat set the image.

Visible Image "Live the moment" Dragonfly Card

This morning, I have played with the Visible Image "Live the moment" stamp set.

I used a circular Gel plate background I created with Brusho paint to create the coloured background - I didn't make this today, I already had it in my stash from a previous Gel Plate making session.

I used the Visible Image "Live the moment" stamp set for the sentiment and the dragonfly.  Both were stamped in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, which I coated in Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and then heat set.

I added a few areas of sparkle, using a silver glitter Signo Pen and added some little faux water droplets.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Engine Room" Preview 3

I'm sharing another sample I have made with the fabulous new clear stamp set from Funky Fossil Designs called "Engine Room".

To create this card, I heat embossed the stamped car image from the Funky Fossil "Engine Room" stamp set using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink with Wow! clear embossing powder.

I then added colour to the background by using "Stormy Sky" Distress Oxide Ink and "Chipped Sapphire" Distress Oxide Ink through the Funky Fossil "Folk Floral Wallpaper" stencil.

I used a stamp from the Funky Fossil "Musings" stamp set to stamp the script on the left hand side, using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.I then inked the edges using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.

I matted the stamped and stencilled image on to a page from the new Funky Fossil paper pack called "Patina".  Using an off cut of the same paper, I used the Funky Fossil "Happy Birthday Die" to cut the sentiment, which I then adhered into position.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Engine Room" Preview 2

Today, I am previewing another brand new stamp set from
Funky Fossil Designs.  It's the "Engine Room" clear stamp set, which I can see being very popular for birthdays and Father's Day card makes.  The Engine Room stamp set will be available to purchase from Friday 26th February 2021.

For this tag, I used the Funky Fossil "Crackle Background" stencil with "Bundled Sage" and "Peeled Paint" Distress Oxide Inks (I think this stencil may have been retired from the range, a shame as it's one of my most used ones).

I used a couple of strips of the new Funky Fossil "Patina Washi Tape" for the top and the bottom of the tag, this tape with other products will also be available on the 26th February.  I then decided the central area needed a bit more colour, so added some "Rusty Hinge" and "Chipped Sapphire" Distress Oxide ink.

Over the top of the background I stamped the engine using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink,  I also inked the edges of the tag and stamped the sentiment using the same ink.

I decided it still needed a bit more colour, so I used the script stamp from the Funky Fossil "Musings" stamp set with Versafine Clair "summertime" orange ink, which lifted it a bit more.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Engine Room" Preview

Hi, I'm excited to share with you another brand new stamp set from Funky Fossil Designs, this one is totally different from all previous stamp sets by Funky Fossil and is called "Engine Room".

"Engine Room Stamp Set" will be released with a selection of other new stamp sets, dies, papers and washi tape, this Friday 26th February 2021.

For this sample, I have used a sheet of the new Funky Fossil "Patina Patterned Paper" for the background.

I distressed it a little, by sanding areas, adding a little bit of copper foil and adding white and gold splatters to it using Posca Pens.

On a piece of cream coloured card, I stamped the engine image in Wow! Clear embossing ink, coated it with Wow! Rich Gold embossing powder and heat set.  I then gave it a blush coloured background with Distress Oxide Inks. I used a metallic gold pen on the edge of the area then mounted it onto dark green card.

Using a narrow off cut of orange card stock, I stamped the script using the Funky Fossil "Musings" stamp set with Versafine Clair "Chianti", a dark red coloured ink.  I then added a strip of one of the new Funky Fossil "Patina Washi Tapes" along the length of it and then inked the edges using the same "Chianti" ink.  I then adhered the card on to the prepared background and then added the engine image.

I used the new Funky Fossil "Cogs & Gears" die set to cut the chain and cogs in red card.  They cut perfectly and adhered into position.

Finally, I decided the card needed a sentiment, so I stamped one in Versafine "Vintage Sepia" using the Funky Fossil "Small Print" stamp set. Then matted and layered the background onto blue and black card.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Birdsong" Preview 4

Here's another sample I have made using the fabulous new clear stamp set from Funky Fossil Designs called "Birdsong".

For the background of this card, I have used the Funky Fossil "Abstract Flowers" stencil with three shades of Distress Oxide inks:  Carved Pumpkin, Festive Berries and Mustard Seed.

I stamped the two bird images on to white card and then coloured them in using Distress Oxide inks, applied with a brush.  I then cut out the bird shapes and adhered on to the prepared background.  Finally, I used some gold Stickles to add a bit of sparkle to the central areas of the flowers.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Birdsong" Preview 3

As you may have gathered I can't stop creating using the new Funky Fossil Designs clear stamp set called "Birdsong".

For this card, I have used the Funky Fossil "In The Clouds" stencil with the Funky Fossil "Round Tree" stencil for the bush area, both coloured with Distree Oxide inks.

I stamped the bird and the sentiment in Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink.  I then stamped the bird in the same ink on a piece of white card, and heat embossed the image using Wow! clear embossing powder.  I coloured the bird using Distress Oxide Inks and Posca pens.  Cutting out the bird shape and adhering on to the card.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Birdsong" Preview 2

Here's another sample that I have created using the fabulous new Funky Fossil Designs stamp set called "Birdsong".

For this card, I have teamed the "birdsong" stamp set with another new Funky Fossil product called "Leafy Circle" which is a die and is on a sheet of the the brand new Funky Fossil paper called "Patina.  So this is new, new, new!

To create this card, I started with a base of a sheet of paper from the new Funky Fossil "Patina" paper pack.

I used the script stamp from the Funky Fossil "Musings" stamp set, stamped in Wow! clear embossing ink and sprinkled with Wow! Oceanic embossing powder and heat set.

I die cut two of the new Funky Fossil "Leafy Circle" and adhered together to make a stronger die cut.  I then coated the die cut with Wow! clear embossing powder, sprinkled Wow! "Mistletoe Magic" embossing powder over the wreath die cut and heat set.  I then adhered the die cut on to the card base.

Next I stamped the bird from the Funky Fossil "Birdsong" stamp set on white card, using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I immediately sprinkled the stamped image with Wow! clear embossing powder and heat set.  I coloured the bird image with Distres Oxide inks applied with a brush, then cut out and adhered the bird on to the card.

Finally, I stamped the sentiment, also part of the the "Birdsong" stamp set.

Funky Fossil New Stamp Set "Birdsong" Preview

It is Day 2 of sharing with you another fabulous new clear stamp set from Funky Fossil Designs.  This set is called "Birdsong" and is definitely already a favourite of mine.

I was really happy with the clean design of this card.  For the background, I used the Funky Fossil "Swallows" stencil. I then die cut a circle in a piece of card and lay the outer area of the die cut over the "Swallow" stencil and filled the area with "Mermaid Lagoon" Distress Oxide Ink. after removing both stencils, it left me with a lovely circular image of the birds.

I stamped the bird on to the card using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I then stamped the same image on to a small piece of card using the same ink and coated the stamped image with Wow! Clear Embossing Powder and heat set.

I painted the bird with a selection of Distress Oxide inks, cut out the image and then adhered it on to the card base/
