Funky Fossil "Zen Mandala Die Set" on a "Circle Lattice" background

I hope you've been having a good weekend, I've been having a play with a new product from Funky Fossil Designs.  A three piece die set called "Zen Madala"

For the background, I have used the Funky Fossil "Circle Lattice Stencil" with "Worn Lipstick" Distress Oxide Inks.

I used the "Zen Mandala" dies in my "Big Shot" using both black and white card, sticking and layering the dies on top of each other.  Some are layered with foam pads to provide dimension, others flat.

Funky Fossil "Cattitude" 5th Birthday Card

Our little smiler Jakey, will be celebrating his 5th birthday in a week or so.  This is the card I have made for him, our very special Grand Son.

I've used a selection of Funky Fossil products, starting with the "Scattered Straw Mask" which I've used in the background with two shades of Distress Oxide Inks "Twisted Citron" and "Mermaid Lagoon".

I then stamped the cats from the Funky Fossil "Cattitude" stamp set.  The cake and bunting from the "Let's Party" stamp set and the sentiment from the "Happy Words" stamp set.  I die cut the number five.

To colour the stamped images, I have used a selection of Distress Oxide Inks, applied with a paint brush.  I have also used Posca Pens.

Funky Fossil "Starfish Wishes" Card

I grabbed a Funky Fossil stamp set that I've not used for some time.  It's the "Starfish Wishes" set.  Incidentally, on checking their website, I see that this A6 stamp set is reduced in price at the moment to £8.54 so a bargain if you're thinking of getting it.

I used Distress Oxide Inks (Fossilized Amber and Tumbled Glass) through the Funky Fossil "Scenic Borders stencil", repositioning the stencil several times to get an overlap of waves.

I stamped the shell from the "Starfish Wishes" stamp set using "Victorian Velvet" Distress Oxide ink.  I then coloured the image using "Tattered Rose" and "Tea Dye" Distress Oxide inks.

I stamped the "Listen to the sea" sentiment using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Lavinia Stamps Valentine Heart Card

This is my take on a card that Karen Telfer created using a selection of Lavinia Stamps.

I die cut a heart shape from a piece of card and used that as a template for the shape, using "Festive Berries" very lightly from the edge of the stencil to the middle of the card.  I then lay the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf" stencil and applied a littl more pressure to the blending tool, using the same ink to achieve the pattern within the heart shape.

Using the Lavinia Stamps Twisted Vine Set, I multi stamped the two images in two shades of Versafine Clair inks:  Verdant and Shady Lane.  I then stamped the berries using "Glamorous" Versafine Clair ink.

Finally, using the "Shady Lane" Versafine Clair Ink, I stamped the sentiment, which is part of a My Favourite Things stamp set called "Essential Sentiments.

Frenchic "Hornblower" - An upcycling furniture project

For a while now, I've been thinking about upcycling a few pieces of small furniture items I have around the house.  I managed to click and collect the Frenchic items I'd ordered at the weekend, so it was time to get cracking.

I opted for a dark blue Frenchic colour from their Lazy Range, called "Hornblower" as I thought it would work well in my craft room, as generally everything is light in colour in there.

I started by scrubbing the little square side table down with a sugar soap solution, to take of any dirt and dust that had gathered over time.  Once dry, I then lightly sanded the piece and then gave it another wipe of sugar soap solution and rinsed off leaving to fully dry.

I was apprehensive to start painting, but as I didn't really have anything to lose by doing it, I went ahead.  The first coat wasn't good, I was expecting better things.  The second was a lot better and just to give a full coverage, I gave it a third coat.  I added to coats of the "Finishing Coat solution" to preserve the paint work.

I'm quite happy with the way it's turned out.  I have a further two items lined up to paint, which I will post about here once they're done.  I think this could become addictive... I'm already looking at my utility room kitchen cupboards with a view to a freshen up paint finish!

Penny Black "Delicate Florals 40-103" Card 3

More play with the Penny Black "Delicate Florals 40-103" stamp set making the slim card.

I stamped the image (and Personal Impressions sentiment) in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.

I painted Distress Oxide Inks, "Seedless Preserves" for the flowers, "Rustic Wilderness" for the leaves and "Antique Linen" for the background colour, finally mounting it on green and then a cream linen card.

Penny Black "Delicate Florals 40-103" in my thoughts Card

A very small and quick make from me, again using the Penny Black "Delicate Florals" stamp set.

I've stamped in Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  Using Distress Oxide inks for colouring the flowers.  I used "Mowed Lawn" for the leaves and "Spun Sugar" and "Picked Raspberry" for the flowers. I used a Personal Impression sentiment, stamped in "Shady Lane" too.

Penny Black "Delicate Florals 40-103" Card

I have a thing for Penny Black stamps.  I really don't care whether they're wood mounted, slapstick or clear,  I just love their designs.

For this card, I've been playing with a Penny Black stamp set called "Delicate Florals" (40-103), which is a foam mounted/red rubber cling stamp set with three designs on the one sheet.

I stamped the floral image a couple of times using Versafine Clair "Shady Lane" green ink.  Using the same ink, I stamped the sentiment, which is from a Crafters Companion stamp set called "Fly Away" from their "Fluttery By Collection".

I used "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink for the flowers, starting with a diluted ink and building up the colour, applied with a paint brush.  For the leaves, I used "Rustic Wilderness" green ink.

Funk Fossil "Blooming Wreath" Card

I had a quick play with the new Funky Fossil "Blooming Wreath"  stamp set that was released last week, making this card.

I stamped the images in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey and "Nocturne" black ink and coloured them by using a paint brush with Distress Oxide Inks, which I found very calming and enjoyable.

Funky Fossil "Guitar Hero" Birthday Card

Another productive early morening start for me, making this card, ideal for a male teenager or somebody into rock.  I've used the new Funky Fossil "Guitar Hero" stamp set that was released last week.

For the background of this card, I used a background I had prepared a few weeks back, using Dylusions "Lemon Zest" and "Fresh Lime" spray paints.

I lay the Funky Fossil "Scattered Straw" mask over the top of the card and taped the edges with low tack masking tape.  I then lay a circle stencil over the top of that so that the circle was in the middle of the card and again taped the edges.  I then used a blending tool with "Peacock Feathers" Distress Oxide Ink to fill the circle area with colour.  Removing the tape and stencils left a lovely crisp patterned circle.

I lined the guitar stamps across the middle of the patterned circle and then stamped them and the "Party Like A Rockstar" sentiment in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.

I then stamped the guitar images again on a plain piece of white card, in the same ink and while it was wet, coated it in Wow! Clear embossing powder and heat set.

Finally, I coloured the guitars with Posca Pens, cut out the images, edged them with a black Sharpie pen and adhered the shapes on to the card.

Lavinia Stamps "Snails and Pods" Card

I made a little card using a Lavinia Stamp I've had in my stash for months but never used.  It's the "Snail Set" of two small snails.

I used "Bundle Sage" Distress Oxide Ink through the Lavinia Stamps "Pods" stencil to create the shaded background.

Using Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple coloured ink, I stamped the "Floral Spray" horizontally.  Colouring by painting "Seedless Preserve" Distress Oxide Ink applied with a brush.

I stamped the snail, part of the "Snail Set" in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, colouring the snail by painting "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide Ink, applied with a brush.  I then used a metallic silver pen for the body area.

Finally, I stamped the hello sentiment, part of a Lawn Fawn "Simply Sentiments" set, in Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink.  I added highlights to the flower and the snail using a gold shimmer Sakura pen.

Visible Image "Hope and Colour" challenge card 2

I've been playing with Visible Image stamps and stencils this morning, making this card.

I brayered "Peacock Feathers" Distress Oxide Ink onto card to get a blended look, lighter at one end to the other.

I used "Stormy Sky" Distress Oxide Ink through the Visible Image "Ripples" stencil over the top of the brayered background.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink, I stamped the "hope" sentiment, part of the Visible Image "Equality, Hope and Love" stamp set, I then stamped the remaining areas using the Visible Image "Random Art of Kindness" stamp set.

Next, I stamped the flowers on to white card and coloured them using two Distress Oxide Inks, "Wild Honey" and "Carved Pumpken".  Cut the flowers out, edged them with a black Sharpie pen, then adhered them on to the card, adding small metal beads to the middle of each flower.

Funky Fossil "Let's Party" Card

While Hubby watched the footie this evening, I had a little creative session faffing with my inks and papers.  I made a few brayered backgrounds for future makes too.

I made this little card using the new Funky Fossil "Let's Party" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink and coloured with Posca Pens, on a brayered "Worn Lipstick" Distress Oxide Ink background.  The sentiment is by Personal Impressions.

Lavinia Stamps "Floral Spray" Sympathy Card

I received some sad news that the husband of a friend had sadly passed away.  I knew the post box in our village had already been emptied for the day, so I made a quick card and asked Hubby to post it while he was in town.

I've used the Lavinia "Feather Leaf" stencil with "Tattered Rose" Distress Oxide Ink.  Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the Lavinia "Floral Spray" adding a Personal Impressions sentiment from their "Square Essentials" set.

Funky Fossil "Let's Party" Birthday Card

I made this card for my Great Niece, who will be celebrating her first birthday.  What a strange first year it must be for her, not meeting people outside her bubble.

I've used two new Funky Fossil products for this card.  The "Ring of Hearts stencil" in the background and the "Let's Party Stamp Set" for the main image.

I used "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink through the "Ring of hearts" stenicl.  I stamped the cake and rabbit on a plain piece of white card and then coloured the image in with a mix of Posca Pens and painted Distress Oxide Inks. Then cut and adhered to the card base.

Finally, I stamped the "Happy Birthday" sentiment, which is part of a Lawn Fawn stamp set called "Simply Sentiments".

Funky Fossil "Lotus Reflections" Card

I received my delivery of the new Funky Fossil stamps today, and got crafting immediately.  I had already routed through my gel plate/ pan pastel backgrounds and put aside a couple of backgrounds that I thought would suit the new "Lotus Reflections" stamp set.

I stamped the main image and sentiment in Wow! Clear Embossing Ink and then covered both with Wow! Rich Gold Super Fine Embossing Powder and heat set.

At the same time, I stamped the individual lotus flower on to a small off-cut of a purple background I had saved and heat embossed in the same gold powder, I then cut out the flower and adhered into position.

Because some of the background design was quite faint I went over some of the background area with the "Forest Foliage" and "Distressed Diamonds" stencils with "Blueprint Sketch" Distress Oxide Ink.

I edged the gel plate background with a metallic gold pen line and then added some gold dots to the background, before mounting on to purple card.

Lavinia Moon Pods Fairy Wishes Tag

I was up early this morning, so made a tag using some lovely Lavinia Stamps. I decided to make a tag using the Moon Pods stamp, which I have not used for some time.

I started the tag by blending two Distress Oxide inks:  Iced Spruce for the lower area and Weathered wood for the top.  I then used the "Iced Spruce" through the Lavinia "Feather Leaf" stencil.

I stamped the "Moon Pods" one of the "Fairy Foragers" and the "Fairy Wishes" sentiment in Versafine Clair "Twilight" ink. I painted the "Moon Pods" with "Seedless Preserve" Distress Oxide ink and added white Posca Pen for the dots.

I stamped the "Fairy Barnacles" in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" and painted them with two shades of Distress Oxide inks:  Broken China and Salty Ocean.

Finally, using a silver glitter Signo Pen, I added some sparkle to the fairy wings and to the middle of the "Fairy Barnacles".

Lavinia Stamps Rory and Darcy "Love you More" Valentine's Card

Karen Telfer produced a fabulous demonstration on how to make a Valentine's card at the weekend on her Facebook page.  This is my take on that demonstration.

For this card, I have used the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf" stencil with "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide ink on the surrounding area of the heart.  The area within the heart, I have used "Festive Berries" Distress Oxide Ink.

I have stamped Lavinia "Rory" and "Darcy" in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.  I have used the same ink to stamp the "Love You More" sentiment, which is part of a "My Favourite Things" stamp set called "Essential Elements CS-137"

Visible Image "Hope and Colour" Challenge Card

On the Visible Image Stamps Facebook page, there is a challenge called "Hope and Colour", where you need to create a bright piece with with an uplifting of inspiring sentiment.  Of course you have to use their stamps and stencils too, with the challenge closing on the 31st January 2021.

This is my entry, I've used a whole host of products.  The initial central circle is a gel plate impression I had in my stash.

I used "Picked Raspberry" Distress Oxide Ink through the Visible Image "Meshing Around" stencil to achieve the fragmented circle.

I then stamped the flowers, the different sizes are in three Visible Image stamp sets:  Total Chaos, Creative Chaos and Accessorize, which I stamped in Versafine Clair "Monarch" purple ink. I also stamped the same images on a piece of white card and heat embossed the stamping.

I added some circle details to the top right and to the left of the card, using the circles from the "You Are Not Alone" stmap set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Next, I stamped the sentiment, which is part of the Visible Image "Brave and Strong" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

I returned to the flowers that I had stamped and heat embossed on white card, painting them with three shades of Distress Oxide Inks:  Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber and Mustard Seed.  I then cut the flower heads out, edged the shapes with a black Sharpie pen and adhered over the flower heads on the card.

Finally, I added some white dots of Posca Pen to the central area to break up the colour a little.

Hero Arts and Pink Fresh Studio "You Make a Difference' Card

I recently came across a stamp set that I thought would be really handy to have in my collection, as I could see by changing the inner sentiment the set would be really versatile.  The clear stamp set is designed exclusively for Hero Arts by Pink Fresh Studio and is called "You Make A Difference" - PA102HA".

I decided to use warm yellow and orange tones for the background, using four shades of blended Distress Oxide Inks :  Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Ripe Persimmon.

I stamped the floral frame and the sentiment in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, colouring the flowers with a selection of Posca Pens and Signo glitter pens.

Gel Plate and Pan Pastel Die Cut Card

I was supposed to be sorting through my craft supplies in an attempt to destash, instead I ended up making this card.

I used a small gel plate off cut, created using Pan Pastels.  I then used a Designs by Ryn "Fish Scales" stamped in Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink in the central area.  I splattered bronze and then white Posca Pens across the surface.

I used the Tim Holtz/Sizzix "Wild Flower Stems" die for the flowers and a Tim Holtz "Ideaology" word sticker saying "Remember".  Finally, I inked the edges in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Papertrey Ink "Under The Weather" and Designs By Ryn "Water Droplets" Card

This afternoon, while tidying some of my stamps, I came across one I've had for years and not used for a long time.  It's a stamp by "Designs By Ryn" and is called "Water Droplets", it's a cling/red rubber stamp. I'm not even sure if it is available to purchase!

I blended three shades of green Distress Oxide Inks:  Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness.  I then used a fan brush to splatter water droplets on to the card and then blotted the surface.

In the middle of the card, I stamped the Papertrey Ink sentiment from the "Under the weather" stamp set, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

Using the Designs by Ryn "Water Droplet" stamp with Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink, I multi stamped the droplets around the sentiment. Then gave it a blast with the heat gun to fully dry the ink.

Next, using a paint brush and water, I slightly bleached the droplets and then blotted the surplus off with a kitchen towel.  Finally, using a white paint pen, I added a white dot to each droplet to replicate the light hitting it.

Visible Image "Reason To Smile" Tag

In these mad, mad days "Be The Reason Somebody Smiles".  That's the Visible Image sentiment I have heat embossed on this tag using their "Reason To Smile" stamp with Wow! clear embossing powder over Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.

I created the background using the Visible Image "The Forest" stencil with two shades of blue Distress Oxide Inks (Tumbled Glass and Broken China) to create the sky through the woods.  Once the stencil was lifted, I painted the trees, using brown and green shades of Distress Oxide Inks (Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy and Peeled Paint) applied with a paint brush.

Visible Image "Leave Your Fears Behind" card.

Today, I've had a play with a Visible Image stamp set called "Leave Your Fears Behind".  I've managed to include all the elements in the stamp set to creat the card, using foru Versafine Clair inks (Verdant, Tulip Red, Morning Mist and Twilight).

Waffle Flower "Oversized Hello" Card

I received an order of a new stamp set today, a brand that I've not previously used, called "Waffle Flower", purchased through Seven Hills Crafts, who provided fab customer service and quick delivery too.

I couldn't wait to try out the stamp, so decided to use it on an Alcohol Ink background I had created on a thick Yupo Paper some months ago.

I decided to heat emboss the large "Hello", first using the Wow! Embossing ink pad, then covered the image with Wow! Opaque Bright White Super Fine Embossing Powder.  I had to use a low heat setting on my heat gun to set the powder as Yupo Paper is plastic coated and I could see that it was starting to distort with the heat.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out and I suspect I will be using this stamp set often.

Snowy Sky Background Tutorial using Funky Fossil "Christmas Characters" stamp set

I have a couple of friends who are in thier early stages of card making.  In these troubled times, it's not so easy to share techniques with them, so I am making a few little videos that they can try at their leisure when the mood takes them.

I know from experience, that sometimes with long video tutorials you can switch off.  For that reason, I have split the technique into two separate videos.  The first is how to create the backgound, shading Distress Oxide Inks, splattering water and paint to create a snowy/stary scene.  Here is the link for that video.

This is a list of the items needed for the background video

A card tag (mine measured 6cm x 12cm Stormy Sky Distress Oxide Ink Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide Ink A white Posca Pen (or white acrylic paint) A Fan shaped paint brush
A small jar of water

In the second video, I concentrate on creating an image using the background in the earlier video.  I have used the Funky Fossil "Christmas Characters" stamp set, stamped in Versafnie Clair "Nocturne" ink and coloured with Posca Pens and Distress Oxide inks.
Here's the link for the second video.

Here's a list of the items needed for decorating the snowman tag:

Lavinia Stamps "Flower Fairy" Sunset Card

I watched a tutorial by Karen Telfer, where she created a card called "Moonlight Magic".  This is my take on her card.  I've opted for sunset rather than moonlight, as I seem to have made a lot of blue cards recently and fancied a change.

For the background colours, I have used the following Distress Oxide Inks:  Antique Linen, Dried Marigold, Ripe Persimmon and Squeezed Lemonade.

I've used the following Lavinia Stamps:  Bonnet Set, Flower Fairy, Spanish Moss Foliage and Wild Poppies stamped in Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink and "Tulip Red" ink

IndigoBlu B.F.F. Birthday Card

I have a few birthdays to make cards in January.  This is for my friend of many years, we have so many happy memories, usually made over a bottle of wine at the kitchen table, so the sentiment I have used on this card seems especially apt.

I've created a background using three Distress Oxide Inks:  Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Lemonade and Picked Raspberry, which I then spritzed with water to make the colours run into each other.  I added extra colour by sprinking a Mica powder in Fuchsia over the wet surface.  The granules spread, creating a pleasing background.  I then used my heat gun to dry the card.

I used an IndigoBlu stamp called "B.F.F" designed by Kay Halliwell-sutton, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.  I added a small "Happy Birthday" sentiment in the bottom corner.

Funky Fossil "Bokeh Builder Stenicl" video tutorial

This evening I've attempted to make my second video tutorial, it is still far from perfect, but I am learning.  As they say, practice makes perfect... I'm certainly at the practice stage!

You can find the link to the tutorial here.

For this tag, I have used:

A white tag with the approximate measurements of 6x12cm

Funky Fossil "Scandi Garden" stamp set

Funky Fossil "Bokeh Builder" stencil

Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink

Distress Oxide Ink - Squeezed Lemonade

Distress Oxide Ink - Spiced Marmalade

Lavinia Stamps "Astrid" on a "Feather Leaf Stencil" gel plate background

Up early this morning and made this card, while thinking about members of our family that I'm missing, especially the grand children.

I created the background using the Lavinia Stamps "Feather Leaf Stencil" on a gel plate background coated with PaperArtsy Acrylic Chalk Paints.

The "Feather Leaf" detail is more obvious on the left hand side than the right, which dictated where I position the large Lavinia "Astrid" stamp. I inked up the stamp using Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.  I coloured the hair area with a metallic gold pen, added a touch of pink to her lips and white to her eyes.

I used the same "Acorn" Versafine Clair ink to stamp the sentiment which is part of a Simon Says Stamp set called "Clean Line Everyday".

Finally, I added some splatters of bronze coloured Posca Pen to the background and then inked the edges of the card in the "Acorn" ink.

Lavinia Stamps "Whimsical Hare" Card

I made a very quick small card this morning, using a gelli plate off-cut from a previous project with all stamping in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink.

I've used one of the beautiful Lavinia Stamps "Whimsical Hares" from the set, paired with Berry Leaves, Spanish Moss Foliage, Creeping Vine and Bullrushes.

Visible Image "Love" gel plate card

A few days ago, I had a gel plate making session.  This evening, I decided to use one of the backgrounds with a selection of my Visible Image stamps making this card.

I'd used two shades of PaperArtsy chalk acrylic paint, "Caribbean Sea" and "Gold".  I had attempted to get a pattern onto the plate, but it was drying quickly so I took an impression while I could, resulting in the background you can see.

I used the Visible Image fingerprint stamp from their "Bloom and Grow" stamp set with Versafine Clair "Acorn" brown ink.

I then used a stamp from the Visible Image set called "Creative Chaos" with "Vintage Photo" Distress Oxide Ink.

I used the Visible Image "Shape It Up" stamp set for the lnes and some of the mid size cluster of circles and the hearts were stamped using the "Have I Told You" set.

I heat embossed the word "Love" and the "star" both part of the Visible Image "Peace, Love and Hope" stamp set, using Wow! Metallic Gold Super Fine embossing powder.

Finally, using a Signo red glitter pen and a gold coloured Sakura gelly roll pen, I filled in some of the smaller circles.

Funky Fossil "Cattitude" tag on a stencilled background.

First thing today, I made a tag. It's a simple tag, but has a blending technique through a stencil, so I thought I'd have a go at videoing the technique.  My first attempt is rough, to say the least.  I need to find my way around the software a bit more, but if you would like to see it, here's the link:  https://youtu.be/-LK3SSSKynw

I've used the Funky Fossil "Cattitude" stamp set and their "Simply Stripes" stencil.

I used "Rustic Wilderness" and "Mowed Lawn" Distress Oxide Inks blended through the "Simply Stripes" stencil.

Using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink, I stamped the cat and the sentiment, I then stamped the cat again on a small piece of white card.

I painted the cat, using Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks.  I then cut out the image and used a black Sharpie pen around the outer edges.  I used an Orange Sparkle Signo Pen to the hat area then adhered it over the stamped image on the tag itself.  Finally, I layered it on to black card and threaded black ribbon through the punched hole.

Funky Fossil "Furry Friends" on a "Simply Stripes Stencil" background

Today I've been playing with the Funky Fossil "Simply Stripes" stencil, which I often over look, opting for a more decorative design.

I used an off-cut of white card in the size of 9.5cm (3 3/4") square. Positioned the stencil on the diagonal ensuring that corners were included, then used some low tack tape to hold the stencil in position.

Following the lines (from top to bottom) of the stencil I used a foam blending tool with "Tumbled Glass" Distress Oxide Ink.  I then lifted the stencil and repositioned it, so that the stencil lines covered teh "Tumbled Glass" lines I had just created.  I then used the same technique with "Cracked Pistachio".

I lifted the stencil and rotated the card a quarter (as I like to work in the same direction), repositioning the stencil with tape to secure.  I then used "Peacock Feathers" Distress Oxide Ink using the same technique used previously.  Once the tape and stencil are removed you can see the finished background grid, which I think is really pretty as they're some of my favourite colours.

I then mounted the background onto a piece of black paper and trimmed to size.

I then moved on to the stamping using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink with the Funky Fossil "Furry Friends" stamp set.  I stamped the sentiment and then thedog on the bottom right corner, stamping the same dog image on a small piece of card.

Using the small piece of card, I coloured the dog image by using two shades of Distress Oxide Inks (Spun Sugar and Weathered Wood), applied with a paint brush.  I then cut out the image and adhered it over the stamped image on the card. Finally sticking the topper to a white 6x6" card blank.

P.S. after I had taken the photograph, I decided to add Glossy Accents to the eyes and nose, just to give a bit of dimension.

Funky Fossil "In The Meadow" and "Delightfully Deco Stencil" Card

I've been playing with a new Funky Fossil stencil called "Delightfully Deco" , which I've paired with the Funky Fossil "In The Meadow" stamp set to create this card.

I used a selection of Distress Oxide Inks through the "Delightfully Deco" stencil.  For the stamping I used two shades of Versafine Clair Inks "Purple Delight" and "Monarch".  I've also added some liquid pearls in "White Opal" shade to some of the wild flowers.

Funky Fossil "Serenity" Card

Here in Wales, we have been in lockdown for some time, but to hear the Prime Minster speaking on TV this evening reminds me of how grave the situation is, and sometimes it can get on top of us too.

I think this card says it all really.  In these troubled times we need to take a moment to breathe!

I've used the Funky Fossil "Serenity" stamp set , stamped in Versafine Clair "Charming Pink" and "Purple Delight" inks.  I heat embossed the word "breathe" using Wow! Metallic Silver super fine embossing powder and then grounded the image using "Weathered Wood" Distress Oxide Ink, applied with a paint brush.  Finally, I added a touch of sparkle to the stars using a silver glitter Signo pen.

Fern and Text with a Funky Fossil Stencil Tag

I've been sorting through some of my crafting stash today.  I have quite a lot and some doesn't get used, mainly because my crafting style has changed over the years, so I've been putting bits by to re-home at a later date.

While sorting, I came across a small off-cut of a Distress Oxide ink background, which was just big enough to make a tag out of, so I decided to create something with it, rather than it being thrown back into the "background box" again.

One of the stamps I came across was a "Text Background Stamp - CL-05088" by "JustRite Cling" , so I decided to try it out over the background using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" grey ink.

Another stamp I came across, which was purchased as part of a bundle, was a fern leaf called "Water Colour Fern - 855" by purplenecker.com. I used two shades of Versafine Clair ink to stamp the ferns "Warm Breeze" and Paradise" both tones of blue colour.

Using Versafine Clair "Twilight" dark blue ink, through a Funky Fossil stencil called "Make Your mark III" I added the honeycomb detail and also the sentiment which is part of their "Bees Geometric" stamp set.

Finally, I added a gold line border a fraction in from the edge of the tag and added some little polka dots to the text area.

Funky Fossil "Rock Star Stencil" Card

I've used two Funky Fossil stencils "3D Sphere" and "Rock Star" to create this card for a male teenager.

I used Versafine Clair "Warm Breeze" ink through the "3D Sphere" stencil to start with.

I then lay the guitar section of the "Rock Star Stencil" and applied Versafine Clair "Nocturne" black ink with a finger dabber.

I left the card to fully dry, and then used an anti-static bag over the guitar area.  Reposioning the stencil so that the "Rock Star" word was level, I then used Wow! Embossing ink through the stencil, then coated it with Wow! Metallic Silver Super Fine embossing powder and heat set.  I mounted the image on to a black card base.
