I'm continuing my play with the lovely new Lavinia Stamps that arrived this week. I have to say they are all absolutely stunning. The detail in the stamps is amazing.
I had a look in my folder of preprepared backgrounds and found a 6" gel plate circle that I'd made a while back. It was greens and greys and to be honest a bit dull, which was why it was still in my folder. I decided to use it regardless.
I popped a piece of copy paper over the background and drew the circle, then cut the middle area out so that I could colour the central image without getting inky finger marks all over the surrounding white area.
I used a selection of pinks, greens and blue Distress Oxide Inks to liven the background up a bit.
I then stamped the beautiful "Zelith" in position using Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" ink, I used the same ink for the "Mini Sea Urchin", I deliberately had her tail hanging over the edge of the circle to add a little more interest.
I then used a fan brush and water to splatter droplets in the areas I wanted them, (behind her body), I then mopped them up with a piece of kitchen roll which reveals a lovely air bubbly look.
I used two Distress Oxide Inks, Spun Sugar and Faded Jeans to colour in the body area of Zelith. I then used a white Signo pen and a silver glitter Signo pen to add highlights to the hair, tail etc.
I moved on to the lower section of the circle and decided to create a landscape, using the edge of a torn piece of copy paper.
I multi stamped the hair of "Astrid", in Versafine Clair Verdant and Shady Lane ink, to create the impression of reeds waving in the water.
