Lavinia Stamps August 2019 New Release Stamps Sneak Peek
On the 22nd August, Lavinia Stamps will be releasing ten new stamp sets. Some will be on the Hochanda TV show, airing at 11am and 3pm, but all will also be available from the Lavinia Stamps web site.
As part of the Lavinia Stamps Design Team, I was fortunate to have a play with lovely new designs that stamp perfectly.
I created the background colour using Dylusion Spray Inks in the following colours: Lemon Zest, Pure Sunshine, Squeezed Orange and Postbox Red. Once the background was totally dry I commenced creating the image.
I masked off the moon and shaded the edges then gave the middle a lighter look by using a light covering of a Distress Oxide Ink called "Antique Linen".
I stamped the figure on the left, she is new and is called "Zemira" and the dragon called "Mideela". I then moved to the right of the page and stamped "The Oracle" (she is an existing stamp in the Lavinia Stamp collection). All were stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.
Using a Versafine Clair ink in the shade of "Morning Mist" I stamped the "Star Burst" flowers and then multiply stamped the "Dragon Verse" across the page.
I created the landscape that the figures stand on by using the torn edge of a piece of card and Distress Oxide Inks.
I decided the far left edge looked a little bare, so I used the "Vine" for that area and the "Mini Slender Mushrooms" for the base of the card, stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne.
Finally, I added touches of gold shimmer using a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. I added highlight areas using a white Posca Pen and coloured the Star Burst flowers using a selection of glaze pens.
Stunning scene the colours shimmer

DeleteSam, what a magnificent creation! Thank you for your detailed description, always. I now have a pretty good selection of Lavinia stamps, but still skeered to actually use them. Reading and seeing how you use them grows my courage - one day soon!!! xox
