Butterfly Wishes (Funky Fossil stamp and stencil)
This afternoon, I have been playing with stamps and stencils from "Funky Fossil Designs". Using their "Abstract Flowers" stencil and the "Butterfly Wishes" stamp set.
I started by covering a piece of white card with a "Mustard Seed" shade of Distress Oxide ink. I then used "Abandoned Coral" Distress oxide through the "Abstract Flowers" stencil, which was secured with low tack masking tape. I used "Candied Apple" Distress Oxide for the middle of the flowers.
I decided where I wanted the butterfly and the sentiment to be and stamped them onto the stencilled background using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" ink.
Using the same black ink, I stamped the butterfly image again, but this time onto an off-cut of white card. I coloured the stamped image using a Sakura Gelly Roll pens in a soft shimmery gold colour and a bonze colour for the body. I then used an Arteza brush pen in a shade of green to add some colour to the wings.
I cut out the butterfly into three sections, the wings and the body. I went around the cut edges with a black pen, then adhered the pieces over the samped image on the stencilled background. (This means that I didn't have to cut out the intricate thin lines of the feelers, just the main three pieces).
