Lavinia Stamps "Northern Lights View" Card
This afternoon, I have been playing with Distress Oxides making this Northern Lights card using Lavinia Stamps.
I created the background using several shades of Distress Oxide Inks. I used Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers, Crushed Olive, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot. I used the edge of a folded piece of damp kitchen paper to create the lighter whisp areas of the sky, by very lightly dragging the corner across the sky in slight wavy lines. You could also use a cotton bud or a wet wipe for this too.
I used a fan brush to give light splatters of water, which sort of bleaches the surface making a star effect. I was really happy with the way it turned out and was slightly scared to stamp on it for fear of ruining such a beauty.
I started by stamping the trees. They're Lavinia Stamps and called "Spring Trees" stamped in Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" shade of ink.
I then created the landscape by using a torn piece of copy paper and dragging the blending tool downwards using the "Black Soot" oxide ink.
I then stamped the seated couple which is also a Lavinia Stamp called "Star Gazing" stamped in Versafine Clair "Nocturne" shade of ink. Using the same ink, I stamped the "Mini Slender Mushrooms".
Finally, I inked the edges of the card using Versafine Clair "Nocturne" and added white highlighted areas using a Signo Pen.
Wonderful!!!
