The prompt for Week 45 is "Never Forget".
This week, we honour those who were injured and those who died for our country in wars past. We must never forget!
My tag for Week 45, started out with a blended background of Tim Holtz Distress Inks in shades of reds & blues. Water droplet marks were left on the surface to create a more mottled effect.
I next stamped the poppy image, using StazOn ink on a Woodware stamp (ADS506). I then created a mask by stamping on a post-it note, cutting around the outline of the image and sticking it on top of the poppy image on the tag.
Using a Stampin' Up verse stamp from the "Faith In Nature" set I stamped a couple of images across the poppy at the top and at the bottom of the tag. I then lifted off the mask to reveal the poppy not marred by verse. I coloured the poppy in using Promarker pens in red and in an olive green colour.
I used Making Memories Tiny Alpha stickers for the words "Never Forget". I then added some droplets to replicate tears falling. To do this I drew the tears free-hand in a black felt pen and added white high-lighted areas using a white "Signo" pen.
This has to be one of the fastest tags I have ever made. For some reason, it all came together so quickly it was as if my fingers were doing the thinking. I'm really happy with the finished tag.
Don't forget, if you want to see the prompts from previous weeks, there is a list at the top of the blog page, just under the title banner and to the right of the "home" button.
If you'd like to take part or just do a one-off tag, I would love to see what you make. You can contact me on the sister page to this blog on Facebook.
