This afternoon, I've been playing with a patchwork die.
I like this block/die as it has interval markers to replicate stitches on the paper cut outs. I used the "Floral Fusion" paper pad for the patterned papers. The Hello is a die cut using Stampin' Up "Hello You Thinlits".
A brief look into the life of a crafter interested paper crafting, sewing, baking and reading.

A Distress Ink Wish Tag
Today, I created this tag using a background of Tim Holtz Distress Inks, a script stamp, foliage dies and a dandelion die. (The foliage and the dandelion were purchased as a used bundle, so no idea who makes them). To finish, I added self adhesive gems.

High Tide Tag
I was up early today and had the urge to play with ink and paper.
I started with a background of distress inks. I then added the sentiment (Stampin' Up "High Tide" stamp set). Using a Tim Holtz, Stampers Anonymous set I added the black dotty section to the top right of the tag.Next I rescued a section of a Memorybox honeycombe die cut from my off-cuts box, positioning to the top left and bottom right.
Using the Tim Holtz, Stampers Anonymous, "Mini Bouquet - CMS269", I stamped the flower heads onto white cardstock. Using Promarkers in six different shades, I coloured the flowers in (Pear Green, Buttercup, Gold, Dusky Pink, Cinnamon, Cocoa). I then hand cut round the flower and adhered them onto the tag. Some flat others elevated with foam pads.
Finally to lift some of the solid areas of the distressed background I used a Signo white pen to add dots to replicate a splatter effect.

A Random Stamped Tag
This morning, I have played with an assortment of old and new stamps. There are far too many to mention. I also raided my box of pre-cut dies for the word "love", hearts and butterfly. It is all on a Panpastel background.

Winter Birds Tag
Well the weather here today is a bit of a surprise, grey, breezy and a little damp too. Where did the Bank Holiday sunshine disappear to? I'm guessing this has influenced my tag!
I used a blend of Panpastels to create a pale background. Then using a Crafter's Companion script stamp, I stamped across the tag. For some reason the ink faded a little which added to the look I was wanting to create.
I'd purchased a couple of used stamps as a bundle, so decided to try them out. The first was the birds I've used at the base of the stamp, the second is the "Winter Birds" which I stamped on a Panpastel off-cut and then mounted it on black cardstock and glued into position. Finally I used black ink for some of the edges, to help the subtle colours to brighten.

Week 35 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2017
So it is bank holiday weekend and the sun is shining here - I hope it is where you are too.
The prompt for Week 35 is "Use a Verse".
For my tag, I have used the "She sells sea shells" verse as I like creating sea/watery tags. They just seem to come easy to me as I love the blue/green shades more than all the other colours.
I started off using blue Distress Inks. Then with a paint brush, I made wavy green lines using Distress Inks too. Once dry, I then ran the tag through the Big Shot using a Stampin' Up embossing folder called "Seaside". I don't think the photograph picks it up, but I also used Glossy Accents in wavy vertical lines too. I then put it to one side to dry.
I then raided my pre-cut dies for seaweed type foliage and found a small die cut fish that I hadn't used on an earlier project. On the beach earlier in the week I had picked up a few small shells that I thought would be suitable for the tag.
On the computer, I typed the verse, changing the font and colour and leaving plenty of clear-line spaces between each word. Once printed, I then cut the words up and inked the edges using a lime green and a blue ink.
Once the tag was dry, I was able to assemble all the bits. (To secure the shells, I used a mixture of foam pads and glossy accents).
Finally I added clear rubber dots and self adhesive dots to replicate air bubbles.

Distressed Jigsaw Tag
Recently I've been experimenting with various Tim Holtz Distress Ink techniques on tags. I have used one of these as the background for this tag.
I then used a white honeycomb overlay (using the Memorybox Honeycomb Background die 99434). I cut the honeycomb up so I had a more random look and replaced some of the hexagons with the die cut centre that would normally be binned.
On a piece of card, I stamped the large and small jigsaw pieces using a StazOn ink. The stamps that I used were part of the Paperartsy "At Home - Plate 5" set. I then cut the images out. I used foam pads to elevate the large jigsaw piece and coloured some of the areas red using a Promarker. I then stamped some random small jigsaw pieces onto the tag. Finally, I used a small punch to cut some red hearts.

Our Home to Yours Card
My friend is moving house, so I needed to make a quick card.
I used a Sizzix die (659914), which is actually a Christmas die, but I cut the Christmas tree off.

Week 34 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2017
I'm a little later in the day today as I'm playing catch up after being away for the weekend.
The prompt for week 34 is "Use a non-standard tag shape".
So really this is an "anything goes" week, but make sure it is in a different shape from the usual tags.
For my tag I used a die of a skull. I die cut the skull in pink, then stuck it onto black card. I drew round the skull leaving a small edge. Using a white Uniball Signo pen I highlighted various areas and then added blue self adhesive gems.
Don't forget that you can also follow this challenge on Facebook. I'd love to see your creations, so please share them with me on the facebook page.

Flower Tag
Today, I decided to have a play with a few dies that I purchased as a used bundle. I have no idea who made them.
I decided on a Panpastel background and die cut four layers of petals for a flower in an orange shade. Using Promarkers, I added different shades of lines and dots, finally using a metallic gold pen for extra dots. The layers are secured with a brad which I also added dots too. I then cut some pieces of foliage which I arranged behind the flower.

Male 60th Birthday Card
I am trying to plan forward by making cards needed for September. Our friend celebrates his 60th this year so I decided to go with a bottle of wine.
I started off by making a background with a leaf stamp by Oak House Studio on green cardstock.
I used a piece of burgundy coloured cardstock and put it through the Big Shot using a Stampin' Up embossing folder called "Oh My Stars". I then dotted the centre of each star with a metallic gold pen and rounded the corners of the rectangle using a corner punch.
I cut the green bottle using a template from "Simply Cards & Papercrafts Magazine" issue 166, then using stamps free with the same magazine. Next, using the Cricut, I cut the number 60 in the same burgundy cardstock.
I used a gold metallic pen for the top of the bottle with a couple of bands of ribbon to imitate the foil on a bottle. I then added a small tag with the name of the recipient

Distress Ink Circle Tag
I've been playing with distress inks again and made this multi coloured tag background. I was at a loss as to what to do with the tag for a while, then decided to go with black circles.
I filled some of circles with coloured discs, stamping small flowers to the middle.
I die cur the black scroll adding it behind the layers of flower petals that were secured with a brad. Finally, I added some sticky gems and letter stickers to spell "colour".

Week 33 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2017
The prompt for Week 33 is "Eastern Influence".
My tag is very loosely Eastern. I started with a piece of patterned paper with a blossom design, (it's from the Floral Fusion paper pad available from The Range). Using some off cuts from the same pad, I cut around some flowers adding them to the top and bottom corner of the tag.
Using Memory Box dies (Pippi Butterfly - 98508 and Isabella Butterfly - 98507) I cut three base butterflies and three lace top layers in two different papers. Finally, I used a Martha Stewart punch to cut the foliage.

Birthday Card (Using Apple Blossom Banner & Blooms)
I was up early today so made a card for a birthday celebration next week.
Here's a close up of the detail:
For this card I have used two sheets of patterned paper from the Floral Fusion paper pad I picked up at The Range.
For the wavy sentiment, I used Apple Blossom "Banner & Die" set, stamped using StazOn in a "Black Cherry" shade. The flowers may be Prima ones. The white foliage is die cut using a small Sizzix die.

Stampin' Up Climbing Orchid Birthday Card
My friend celebrates her birthday next week, so I made her this card.
I have used patterned paper from a lovely 6x6 pad of patterned paper I purchased from The Range called "Floral Fushion" some of the designs have a slight glitter to them.
I also three different Stampin' Up products. The "Climbing Orchid" stamp for the flowers. The "Orchid Builder Framelits" to cut the orchid shape and the "Dragonfly Dreams" for the sentiment.
Here's a pic of the patterned paper stack so you can see the other designs in the pad

Male Birthday Card
It has been a long time coming, but today I made a card!
I'm not sure who made these dies as I purchased them as a used bundle. I've stored them on A4 magnetic sheets and kept in clear popper wallets so that I can see what is in them with ease.

Week 32 - 52 Week Mini Art Card / Tag Challenge 2017
These weeks are coming round far too quickly. The prompt for Week 32 is "The Ocean".
For my tag, I started off with a blended background of Tim Holtz distress inks. I then stamped the turtle (and made a mask too) using the Stampin' Up set called "From Land To Sea". Using a stamp from the Stampin' Up set called "By The Tide" I stamped the seaweed, masking that area I then used a Stamper's Anonymous stamp to create the rays and the dotty edges. To add further definition to the central area, I inked the edges of the tag.
I finished the tag, by die cutting an anchor, added two metal fish embellishments and small pale blue gem stones to replicate air bubbles in the water.
Don't forget, If you are following this challenge, I would love to see your creations. You could follow the challenge on Facebook too by clicking on this link.
