So here we are at Week 26 - half way through this challenge. I have no idea where the year has gone!
The prompt for Week 26 is "Feline".
For my tag, I used a background of blended Panpastels. I stamped the cat image and then restamped the remains of the ink onto a post it note, cut around the image and then stuck it over the original cat image to form a mask.
Using a plastic mask produced by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous, I then used Distress Inks to provide the shaded dots and hexagons. I then removed both masks and inked the edges of the tag in black. I die cut the letters in black card for the word "meow".
A brief look into the life of a crafter interested paper crafting, sewing, baking and reading.

The Blue Floral Tag
Even though the heat has subsided, I am still struggling to find my crafting mojo. Last night I decided to have a play and made this tag.
I had prepared the Distress inked background a week or so ago, which I put under a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, to provide a ridged texture. Then added a small strip of white lace to the base of the tag.
Rummaging through my paper flowers I found the dark blue hydrangea petals which I thought would work well, using three layers and securing with a brad. I then topped the brad with a small white flower. I die cut and punched various pieces of foliage in white and blue. I finally added some self adhesive pearls.

Week 25 - 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2017
I hope you have been managing to keep cool in the heat the past few days. The weather certainly seems to have slowed my crafting mojo.
Here is the prompt for Week 25 - Make A Wish
I have been playing with Distress Inks for the background of this tag, using two colours (Picked Raspberry and Twisted Citron). I spritzed the tag with water so that the colours washed into each other a little.
I used a Viva Decor Grunge stamp to create the circle effect at the top of the tag, again using a Distress Ink, this time in Crushed Olive. The "Make A Wish" sentiment is from a Stampin' Up set called "Perfect Pennants" and is stamped in Picked Raspberry.
I have used a Sizzix Thinlit flower die (661794) for the flower at the top of the tag, cutting three layers of petals and then put a brad through the middle. The leaf at the bottom of the tag is also a Sizzix Thinlit die (661792).
I hope you have a fabulous week. Remember, if you are following this challenge, then I would love to see your creations.

7" Vinyl Birthday Card
I made this card for a friend/former colleague who is fanatical about AC/DC and is celebrating his 50th birthday this year.
I looked on ebay for the 7" vinyl single "For Those About To Rock, We Salute You" and was fortunate to get two for £1.99 + £2 postage which I thought was a bit of a bargain. For this use, it didn't matter what the condition of it was, I just really wanted the look and the label to be ok.
For the background I used a background grunge stamp by Viva Decor. I had planned to type and create a special sentiment for the middle, but my printed decided to run out of one colour of ink and refused to print in black only, so I then resulted to stamping a sentiment. For this I used Papertrey Ink "Stylish Sentiment" stamp, and used a Spellbinder die from their "A2 Matting Basics" set.On the inside on the left hand side I have stuck the paper sleeve for the 7" vinyl single.
This card has turned out totally different from the one that I had in my head, all the same, I like the look of it and I'm sure my friend will be happy with it too.
It struck me that this style of card could be used for other events, like special wedding anniversaries where the record could be the first dance song.

Wonderful Water Lily Tag
I played with Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create the background for this tag. Spritzed with water and then sprinkled with sea salt, when dried it created a lovely water/bluebell wood effect.
The sentiment on the right hand side is from the Stampin' Up "Perfect Pennants" stamp set. I've made the flower & foliage using Sizzix thinlit dies. To finish the tag, I added some self adhesive clear domes.

Week 24 - 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2017
Just a reminder that this is a weekly challenge, where I will provide a prompt on Sunday evening/Monday mornings. It's up to you how you interpret the prompt. You can do as much or as little as you like. Obviously, if you are taking part, I would love to see your creations.
The prompt for Week 24 is "Blues & Greens".
Shades of blues and greens are my absolute favourite. I used a blended Panpastel background. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up "High Tide", the stamped design used Stmapin' Up "Paisley & Posies set. I then die cut a wreath using Memorybox "Tupelo Circle" in two shades, using it to circle the sentiment. I inked the edges of the tag and added some self adhesive gems.
Have a great week.

Week 23 - 52 Week Mini Art Card/Tag Challenge 2017
So it's Week 23 already and the prompt for this week is "Beach Holiday".
I used different shades of Distress Inks, dragged over the surface of the tag. The edge on the left hand side was punched using a Stampin' Up punch.
The stamped ice cream and sand sceen are both from the Rubbadubbadoo set called "At The Beach"
