Gelli Plate Play Time
Roaming around the internet, as one does, I came across a little video By Birgit Koopsen which inspired me to have a go at the technique myself. This is the video that I watched: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=334061483970900
I actually have a stash of Pan Pastels that have not seen the light of day for some time, so when I saw that I could use them to create a background, I had to give it a go.
It's a straight forward process of applying Panpastels to your plate through stencils then applying paint (I used a cheap acrylic) and a brayer across the surface.
The double image above is the result of the first (on the left) and the second pull (on the right) from the gelli plate. I now know to use less paint with the brayer - crafting is always a learning curve.
The top image is where I have added shades of ink to cover the white/missed areas.
